"Eluveitie" is pronounced "Ell-vej-ti".
Slania, the name of the band's second album, is from ancient epitaph of a girl that lived about 2500 years ago in the eastern Helvetic Alps. The little Slania appears on the album cover .
In their 2009 release Evocation I - The Arcane Dominion almost all lyrics are in Gaulish (except the first song "Sacrapos - At First Glance"). Their lyrics are based on texts written in Gaulish such as prayers, invocations of the gods and other spirits.
Eluveitie's first EP, Vên, is Helvetian Gaulish for "Wild Joy"
Eluveitie is Etruscan for "the Helvetian", referring to an inscription dating to the earliest record of the Celtic Helvetii tribe from what is now Switzerland.
