09:46 - !J.O.O.E.! Really? Finnish black metal to me has always trailed behind, bar a few key interesting bands (old Beherit and old Wyrd). I think Oranssi Pazuzu is probably their only good modern export.
08:08 - Stereolab42 Damn... Finland makes the filthiest black metal in the world. In a good way.
There is plenty of new music out there today and Intronaut also decided to share new material. The Direction Of Last Things is the title of their new album, in case you didn't know, and the first cut made availabe is the heavy number "Fast Worms". Make sure you check it out below. How was that as an introduction to their fifth full-length release?
It seems like Intronaut will be embarking on the upcoming tour with Enslaved and Between The Buried And Me with a brand new album in the bag. The American metallers just announced their new musical offering to the world and it's called The Direction Of Last Things. They will also be playing some headlining shows before that big tour. For now, you can take a look at the album cover. Also, the record was mixed by the one and only Devin Townsend.
Two years after they released their latest opus Habitual Levitations (Instilling Words With Tones), Intronaut are entering the studio again. The band has begun work on what will become their 5th full length album and the record will be recorded with Josh Newell (Cynic) with none other than Devin Townsend handling the mixing. They promise "more dense and brutal" songs this time around.
Now this is something. Earlier this year, it was announced that Cloudkicker, Ben Sharp's instrumental progressive metal band, would tour North America with Intronaut as his backing band. Ben Sharp had previously vowed the band would never play live. The two bands piled into a van and every night played to a fanbase who knew they were experiencing a perhaps once in a lifetime opportunity. For those unfortunate ones who missed the shows, the band stopped off at Texas recording studio, The Fathom Tree, and played the set start to finish live and captured it all on tape. Century Media is now releasing Live With Intronaut from this recording session. Are you interested?
Intronaut will hit the road again after a short break and a recent tour with Tesseract. The band has been on the road in support of their current album, Habitual Levitations, ever since its release on Century Media in March of 2013. Lucky North Americans, some of you at least. Tesseract, Intronaut and Cloudkicker will be doing a North America tour in March/April. More notably, this tour will mark the first-ever live tour for Cloudkicker. Members of Intronaut will be fleshing out the backing band for Cloudkicker on the run as Ben Sharp couldn't do it all by himself. Check out the flyer and the dates below. Tesseract will headline the tour.
