White Wizzard - Vocalist Out, Cancel Rest Of The Tour (Update)

UPDATE on 08.10.2013: Parting ways with a vocalist mid-tour is usually not a good idea as White Wizzard discovered. Following the drama involving their former singer Joseph Michael who was fired from the band, the heavy metallers have made the decision to cancel the rest of the European tour they had planned for this month. The accusations between the two parties continue. Furthermore, Joseph Michael is planning to sue Jon Leon for slander and defamation.

The Ocean - Upcoming DVD Detailed

The Ocean have unveiled the trailer for their first ever DVD that will be called Collective Oblivion. This is something the band has been teasing for quite a while. Finally, fans will be able to order this thorough and expansive look at The Ocean's career and touring experiences, including the Heliocentric record release show with an extended line-up of 13 musicians on stage; as well as a special performance at the museum for musical instruments in Berlin, and much more. Timo Tolkki's Avalon - Second Album In The Works

Following the success of Timo Tolkki's Avalon debut album The Land Of New Hope, guitarist Timo Tolkki has already started working on a sequel to his first Metal Opera, slated for a 2014 release on Frontiers Records. The entire cast of musicians will be revealed one by one in separate video blogs. The first singer from the cast reveled is Simone Simons of Epica fame. She is not singing the main role on Avalon II, which is a working title for the album, but the final name will be revealed later.

Sepultura - European Headlining Tour

If you were hoping to see Sepultura playing in Europe again, you might get lucky. The band has just announced dates for next February/March. A hand-picked triumvirate will support Sepultura on their upcoming European headliner tour. Among them are Dutch warbeasts Legion Of The Damned, Flotsam & Jetsam and the openers of the tour are the youngsters of the line up at the same time: Mortillery from Canada. The Brazilian thrashers will present their new album The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart.

Queensrÿche - Film Mini-Movie

Queensrÿche recently filmed a 'mini movie' for the tracks "Spore", "Midnight Lullaby","A World Without" and "X2". The tracks will provide the score to a 10-plus minute story, dubbed Queensrÿche: Ad Lucem ("Towards the light"). The movie was filmed by director Daniel Andres Gomez Bagby with producer Marco De Molina on location at Central City Stages in Los Angeles last month. No word yet on when it will premiere but stay tuned for that.

UK's Eye Of Solitude have released an excerpt of their new song "Act II: Where The Descent Began". This is a condensed 4-minute version to whet your palate for the 10-minute track. Ever since singer Todd La Torre left the band and joined Queensrÿche, Crimson Glory haven't said much about their future but recently they released a statement revealing that the band is still a go. The band members have been busy with their other projects but there are new ideas for a new Crimson Glory album even though at this point there are no commitments in terms of release date or a new singer.

Caliban - New Album Next Year

Caliban went straight into the studio after a run of summer festivals to record their upcoming album to be titled Ghost Empire which we know now is due to be released on January 27th, 2014. Mark your calendars for the new offering from the metalcore outfit. Yet again the album was produced by guitarist Marc Görtz in cooperation with Benny Richter. The follow-up to I Am Nemesis is on the way.

Apocalyptica - Release Video

Cello masters Apocalyptica have premiered today a new live performance video for "Ludwig Wonderland". The track is from the band's upcoming release Wagner Reloaded - Live In Leipzig. The album is a live collaboration with the MDR Leipzig Symphony Orchestra and will be released on November 19th via BMG. It was recorded in July 2013 in Leipzig. The song "Ludwig Wonderland" is the first in a chronological set of 3 clips to be published in shorter intervals towards the release. Enjoy the show.
