Cynic - Sean Reinert Leaves; Band Continues With Masvidal

Further development have been made in regard to Cynic's status. The progressive metal legends have agreed that Cynic will continue its activity without long-time original drummer Sean Reinert, as guitarist and vocalist Paul Masvidal will push on to find new talents to add to the Cynic fame. In his farewell post on the band's Facebook page, Reinert explained the situation and the agreement reached between him and Masvidal and the future plans for both musicians.

Legend Of The Seagullmen - Brent Hinds And Danny Carey's Band To Release Debut Album

You might remember Legend Of The Seagullmen. The band was announced two years ago but it was unclear if it would be a full-on project. The supergroup is comprised of Tool's Danny Carey on drums, Mastodon's Brent Hinds on guitar, director Jimmy Hayward (Jonah Hex) on guitar, David 'The Doctor' Dreyer on vocals, Zappa Meets Zappa's Peter Griffin on bass, and Chris DiGiovanni on synth, alongside the help of a few more rippers! Their self-titled debut album drops on February 9th, 2018 via Dine Alone Records. Right now, you can listen to the first track "Shipswreck" here.

Kalmah - Pekka Kokko Misses European Tour

As the Death Unleashed European Tour started on December 1st in Belgium (with Nothgard, Heretoir and Last In Grey), Kalmah's singer/guitarist Pekka Kokko faced medical issues and had to stay in Finland. Kalmah were quick to react and found two replacements by the name of Robse from German folk metal band Equilibrium and Pether Winterschmied from German melodic death metal act Burn Down Eden. As of yesterday, Pekka was still not present for the show in Berlin, and might not join at all since the tour ends today in Munich. An update from the band is expected soon.

Susperia - New Album Detailed, Launch Trailer

Norwegian extreme metal heavyweights Susperia will return with their long-awaited first full-length studio album since 2009, titled The Lyricist, on March 16th via Agonia Records. Gleb Kolyadin - Releasing Solo Album, Stream Song Feat. Steve Hogarth

If you like Russian proggers Iamthemorning's work, you'll be glad to know that pianist Gleb Kolyadin will soon release his self-titled debut solo album. The album will be released on February 23rd via Kscope. Musicians who collaborated on the album: Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree, King Crimson) Nick Beggs (Steven Wilson), Theo Travis (Steven Wilson), Vlad Avy (Iamthemorning), Evan Carson, Steve Hogarth (Marillion), Mick Moss (Antimatter) and Jordan Rudess (Dream Theater). The first song "The Best Of Days," featuring Steve Hogarth, is the first taste available so far.

Ghost - Surprise Release Live Album

After some teasing Ghost style, the Swedes have surprise released a live album called Ceremony And Devotion. The heavy metal band also released a stream of the live version of "Absolution" (from Meliora) that is featured on the new release. Check it out below. Crashdïet - Find New Singer

In 2015, Simon Cruz left Swedish glam metal outcasts Crashdรฏet. Now the band has a new vocalist and just introduced Gabriel Keyes.
