Bloodstock Open Air 2017 - First Bands Announced

The first bands have been announced for Bloodstock Open Air 2017! The organizers revealed a batch of Ronnie James Dio main stage bands for 2017, including their Friday night headliner! Amon Amarth will invade Catton Park shore as Friday night's headline band; landing the special guest slot on Friday are power metal kingpins Blind Guardian. Their set will be a UK exclusive for 2017. Other confirmed acts include Testament, Hatebreed, Whitechapel, Possessed and Hell.

Italian punk band Garçon Fatal just posted via Facebook that Italian bassist Riccardo Lampani aka Baka Bomb has recently passed away. He was part of Italian legends of horror and doom metal Paul Chain, and he also played in Witchfield, Cane Mangia Cane and Boohoos.

Black Sabbath - Might Write New Music

Although Black Sabbath have repeatedly stated that they are not going to tour anymore, guitarist Tony Iommi recently told Ultimate Classic Rock that he might write new music with the band again. When asked if there is a future for Black Sabbath beyond the farewell tour, Iommi stated: "Maybe. As I said, I'll be doing some writing. Maybe I'll be doing something with the guys, maybe in the studio, but no touring." So, Black Sabbath could be releasing new music in the future; at least the door is open.

Helheim - Finish Work On New Album

Norwegian Viking metallers Helheim have completed work on what will be the band's ninth full-length album, which is set for release on Dark Essence Records in January 2017. In the run-up to the release of the album, which will be titled landawarijaR, the band will be releasing two videos of tracks from the album, the first of which will appear in November.

Art X - New Project From Vocalist Gabriele Bernasconi

Following the split-up of Clairvoyants, the vocalist Gabriele Bernasconi focused all his energies on a new metal opera project called Art X, and releases now, by the Melville Records, its first record named Redemption Of Cain. The opera tells the biblical story of Cain and Abel from the point of view of Cain, and was partly inspired by Lord Byron's work "Cain - A Mystery" published in 1821. Artificial Brain - New Album In 2017

Sabaton - Announce N. American Headlining Tour

Swedish metal heroes Sabaton announced they will be returning next year for a North American The Last Tour headlining trek. The band will be touring in support of their eighth album, The Last Stand. The tour will kick-off on April 20th at The Trocadero in Philadelphia, hit 7 Canadian cities plus Chicago, Anaheim, Dallas, and conclude at The Fillmore in Silver Springs, Maryland on May 22nd. For the first time since 2012, Sabaton will headline a tour in USA and Canada!
