Sólstafir - Former Drummer Responds, To Take Legal Action

Guðmundur Óli Pálmason, ex-drummer of Sólstafir, has released a second statement, which can be read in full below. This statement follows a previous one, which also can be read here where he announced he was kicked out of the band. Now he has responded to the official statement released by the band last month where not much was said regarding the details of his departure. It seems that we are going to see some legal battles in the Köld north as Guðmundur Óli Pálmason is preparing to take this matter to court.

Cult Of Luna - Reschedule North American Tour

Cult Of Luna have announced new shows in North America, scheduled for September this year. The Swedes are going to be sharing the stage with Minsk, Kylesa, SubRosa and InAeona on select dates. Cult Of Luna had announced a three-date North America tour in May, but they cancelled due to visa issues and said the tour would be rescheduled for September. The good news is that the tour has more shows now.

Dragony - Release Video For Cover Of Kung Fury's 'True Survivor'

Austrian power metallers Dragony have released the '80s metal tribute cover version of David Hasselhoff's video clip "True Survivor". The original version of the song and video clip, which promoted the Kung Fury movie, became a recent Internet sensation, with more than 16 million views within around 8 weeks. Now you can hear Dragony's take on "True Survivor".

Wildernessking - Announce New Album

South Africa's Wildernessking have announced a new record! The progressive black metallers revealed that their awaited second album is called Mystical Future and will be released in October/November 2015 by Germany's Sick Man Getting Sick Records. Further information about the album, artwork, as well as the first single will be released in September. All you can do now is wait a little bit longer.

Iron Maiden - Receive O2 Silver Clef Award

Iron Maiden are about to release a new album, a double album in fact called The Book Of Souls. Recently, the legendary heavy metal band has also been awarded the prestigious O2 Silver Clef by Nordoff Robbins in recognition of "outstanding contribution to UK music". Previous winners include The Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, Genesis and Queen. Last year's Silver Clef winner was Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin). Singer Bruce Dickinson, and guitarists Adrian Smith and Janick Gers were in attendance to collect the award.

Napalm Death - Issue Charity Track For Nepal

Napalm Death have issued a previously unreleased track to raise money for people affected by April's earthquake in Nepal. The Birmingham grinders are showing their solidarity and you can too. The money will go to the charity dZi, which focuses on improving quality of life and reducing poverty in some of the most remote communities in Nepal. A small gesture can go a long way.

Feridea - Announce New Singer, Preview New EP

Iced Earth - First Albums To Be Re-Released On Vinyl

If you like vinyl and Iced Earth, you might want to check this out. Century Media will release on vinyl the first four studio albums of Iced Earth in July. Iced Earth and Night Of The Stormrider will be released on July 10th, while Burnt Offerings and The Dark Saga will be released on July 17th. All four albums will come in gatefold sleeves featuring the original LP artwork. Layouts have been kept close to the layouts of the original vinyl versions as well.

Orkan - New Album Detailed, Hoest Announced As Guest

The second Orkan album is coming. With a release date set for the 11th September, Dark Essence Records have revealed details for the upcoming sophomore full-length album from the Norwegian black metallers. Titled Livlaus, the seven-track album was recorded live in the studio, with no editing of the basic tracks, whilst vocals and effects were added later. Hoest (Taake) and V'gandr (Helheim) perform guest vocals on two of the tracks.

Infernäl Mäjesty - New Album On The Way, Video Teaser
