UK symphonic progressive outfit To-Mera will enter their new studio (based in Tom McLean's home) on January 21st to begin recording their third album. The band comments: "It's been a long, occasionally painful and definitely emotional, road to reach this point, but we can assure you that this album is going to be 'The One' you've been waiting for."

French avantgarde metallers Akphaezya have posted online a video for "Nemesis," a song from the band's upcoming album Anthology IV: The Tragedy Of Nerak, due out in March via Code666 Records. The cutting-edge thrash metallers Vektor have announced the tracklist and revealed the cover art of their upcoming album Outer Isolation. The album features five new songs and three re-recorded compositions from the band's first album Demolition: "Tetrastructural Minds", "Venus Project" and "Fast Paced Society." The band did a similar thing on their previous album Black Future in 2009 by re-recording two other songs. Also, two new songs, "Dying World" and "Dark Creations, Dead Creators," are now streaming online at this location.

The French dark progressive metal band Adagio announced their new singer to be Kelly Sundown Carpenter (Outworld, Beyond Twilight, Darkology). After the departure of Christian Palin, Adagio were helped out by Mats Leven (Yngwie Malmsteen, Krux, Therion, At Vance, Fatal Force, Firewind). The band comments that Mats was never meant to be a permanent member, which was mutually understood, and they appreciate his help on tour.

Atlanta progressive metallers Mastodon will release their new upcoming album, The Hunter, on September 27th through Reprise Records. The band now revealed the tracklist for the forthcoming effort.
The Hunter was recorded at Doppler Studios in Atlanta with producer Mike Elizondo. Drum tracks were previously completed in Los Angeles at the legendary Sound City Studios (the place where Nirvana's Nevermind was recorded).
A brand-new track, called "Black Tongue" is still available for streaming at this location. The new single "Curl Of The Burl" will make its online debut on August 16th. More info on the limited edition can be found here.
As previously reported, Atlanta progressive metallers Mastodon will release their new upcoming album, The Hunter, this October through Reprise Records. The band now revealed the cover artwork for the limited edition package, as can be seen below.
The artwork was once again created by AJ Fosik, a wood carver who is also responsible for the backdrop the band uses live. As said, this marks the first time Mastodon has not used acclaimed artist Paul Romano, who was responsible for all of the group's previous artwork.
Young UK prog outfit Haken has announced the title of their second album to be Visions.
The new record will be a concept album, just like the debut Aquarius, which dealt with water and ecology, though the exact concept of Visions has not yet been revealed.
Singer Ross Jennings ensures: "We are confident this album will not disappoint fans of Aquarius. As well as pulling some signature stunts, we are also trying to raise the bar with our compositions, and as individual players..."
The band has also stated that they wanted to make the album available exclusive for those attending ProgPower USA in Atlanta on Saturday, September 17th. The tentative release date is planned for the beginning of October and will be announced later.
Adagio guitarist Stéphan Forté has completed work on his solo album, entitled The Shadows Compendium.
He commented as follows: "At last after so many years of work, my first instrumental solo album is done. I'd like to thank Kevin Codfert (keyboard player in Adagio, who also helped mix previous albums of the band) for his incredible work on the mix, and of course my very talented friends / guests on this album: Jeff, Mattias IA, Glen, Daniele, Derek and Franck. Guys, your solos kicks some serious asses!"
