Evergrey - Premiere New Song And Video

As The Storm Within approaches, progressive metallers Evergrey have now released the first song off the impending new album. As they have done many times before, the Swedes enlisted the help of Patric Ullaeus and rEvolver Film Company for the video. Hear the song "Distance" on the video below and share your thoughts about it.

The band stated: "'Distance' is the first of a series of videos we have shot for The Storm Within album. Working very closely with Patric Ullaeus and rEvolver Film Company our aim was to recreate the eerie and desolate sense we had while writing the songs for this - the 10th Evergrey album. One could say this is our first real attempt at inviting everyone into the cinematic world where we have been in mind and thought throughout this year while writing. We think the imagery speaks for itself. This is just the beginning. The storm is coming."

You can grab the album on September 9th via AFM Records. This is the band's 10th studio album, celebrating their 20th anniversary.

Sounds like a bonus track from "Hymns for the Broken". I'd say it's pretty generic Evergrey, which means it's a well-crafted song I enjoy.

Its good but not great. It feels to me like it should have been a middle single not first. I just kept waiting for it to kick into a higher gear but it never came. Again though it is a good song and beautiful video.

This! The sound seems to be stabilizing. I was kind of expecting something different, but I would not mind if they kept up where Hymns left off.
