I agree, well extra Guinness made for Africa as export is stronger tastes better
But if in mainstream caffe where are stella artois, carslberg and such piss beer, if there are no choice at all Guinness can be good

The book is wrong. Simple.
It was just regular pale ale that was exported to INdia because it was popular there.

Yeah... to be honest, while it was the first beer I liked, it's kinda crap for a stout. Its main flavors are akin to metallic water and weak coffee. Great beginner beer for people who find they have a taste for the darker flavors, though.

I did start whit it as well plus Aldara Porter , when most ppl chilled and drunk some piss lagers, evn I did but Bauskas, Piebalgas, Tervetes , allare lagers as well, but whi bitter taste not as 100% german lager , and I liked dunkel or schwarzbier version of Bauskas

it is indeed a great beginner stout.

as an American, it's like Heineken. was a great improvement over what was. i enjoy Heineken here, would love a Guinness... but back in the States not at all likely to purchase either aside from worst case scenarios at dive bars.

Anyone recommend a beer for a starter. I tried becks and fosters but there just too damn bitter for me. So far I think spirits just taste better.

go to some pub , small town pub, luxus pub in the Lodnon, go to brevery's pub and try real ales

Trappistes rochefort 8 - Belgium Strong Ale, (Belgium) 9.2%
Last time I drunk all of this 6, 8. 10 was hmmm 5 years ago

outstanding beer, easy drainable, (for high alcohol level ) , you can take one bottle after other, don't lose its taste
what I like about Rochefort and Westmalle you put it in the glass and it has interesting sound, when bobbles made head, just like sparkling wine

Oppigårds / Amager Bridge IPA. Swedem/Denmark , Double IPA 7%
Amager has some good beers, I only bought this one because there was one trappistes Rochefort left , well for double IPA its week, ordinary IPA good, but easy lose its taste, still enjoyable IPA 0.3 l bottle is perfect, if its be more taste be lost




O'Hara's Irish Red , Ireland, Ale 4.3%
Think I don't like about Britan is week ales, and so on, British origin but Americans will make it better
I like pubs, draft beers from kegs, casks , but I hate this british thing 5h in a pub take 7 pints 3% ale and watch football, I can buy stronger , watch it at home. 5% - 13% beer and watch on tely at home
I don't need that pub shit ... that idea make week ale to ppk can have more always will be downfall of british pubs and ales
Anyway I enjoyed that one, but sorry 0.3 bottle I need 2 pints of it

Brasserie Distillerie Du Mont Blanc - Triple Epices , ale, France 7.2%
I am skeptic when it comes France and beer , tried 3 beers from close to Bel border regions all were week and piss beers
This changed my mind, French ppl needs drop out wine from their heads and drink beer, great, easy drinkable, taste, (feels litte sweet in begging, sweetness goes away , but not beer taste)
I like 0.7 l bottle and that special corce, open it close ut , it can stand in the bottle some time, I remember my grandmother use to have such cources, damn old school things are cool
Great beer ..

BTW label are cool it was spoken whit me, I saw Odin something, heathen speaks whit ppl

Just question, are there differences in taste in ordinary beer bottle or sparkling wine?

Great rich full beer , whit great head, and great smell, a lot of fruits into smell and smell never dies, same taste as well, but I see it also has wine character, more In the mouth palate , it gets dry , similar as wine, not dry some semi sweet
Great beer, great price and size

Good ale, good party beer, but taste desapears fast, I feel hops yes, but there can be better, but for parties when you need drink a lot goes good, I don't remember last beer I drunk under 5 %

Great beer, but I hate those 0.33l bottles made for Europe, I want original 0.7l basically I have told a lot of Belgium standard sucks, small bottle , not enough, I want bigger , because theya re limited edition here and it was last one .. great, great taste, head, not best DIPA; but close, I really enjoyed it

The 33cl bottle IS the standard bottle for that beer also in the US. Btw 70cl is never a bottle size in the US there is 66cl but not for most beer and in Europe there is 75cl as a size but also not for most beers. Standard sizes for beers are 33cl and 30cl

I looked up their home page , most has some oz I assumed its 70cl, but from img I cant tell 66 or 70cl

Germany most has 50cl, (lagers dunkels, schwarcbiers , bockbier,s hefe / dunkel weizens , rauchbiers, some case sin Bayern you got 1l beer cup in the pubs) UK has pint ... (most ales,)

I don't mind small bottles , I buy 2-3 but thise case it was 1 left same only 2 bottles 08/01 stout . what will be tasted today , later ... both was listed as limited edition/small parties in or booze store,

Best British stout, second best beer from UK I have tried, best English beer I have tried. Outstanding
It has traditional roasted malt taste as stouts has but it has no so strong as imperial stouts like yeti has ... its strong but you don't feel % of alcohol
every day use, day, night, summer , outstanding stout IMO , different as others

Great IPA; great hop taste, but same time not so bitter anb more I say super great beer for parties when you need drink a lot,

Stiegl Weisse Naturtrüb - Hefe/Weizen , 5.1% - Austria

Actually its simple beer, pretty good, nice gold muddy color and taste, mixed between some kind a sasion/sparkling wine and hefe/weizen taste. I enjoy it a lot, simple beer, but all simple things are good. Price, bottle, all easy to get and even mainstream style, but damn awesome. German / Austrian hefe weizens are great, better as Belgian vitbier. Great summer beer, whit actually strong tatse what don't vanish so easy. Lovely chill out beer

Brazil has a great craft beer scene for South America...

went there a first time with K and co-workers who were also vacationing in Rio... drank so much we got free shots.

went there two days later with K, her brother and his GF after they arrived... drank so much (of what was left, they hadn't had time to replenish stock from prior visit) that we got free house Rubio draft.

Expensive there, though. At various places, including Delirium Cafe, paid about 30R ($10) for 12oz/pint US or in some cases 500ml Brazilian beer.

Have no idea what we/you/the Dutch taxpayers spent that in at In De Wildemann, but i think Rio was as expensive a night as i've had.



Conversely, caipirinhas on the beach went for 5-10R, or $1.75 to $3.50, depending upon your beach dude.

Just tasted ESB for the first time. Hard to go wrong with Fuller's.
