Then you have not been to California, Because its very common here. When you move away from the more mainstream black metal type of stuff, there are always less ninjas.

but then again at Hellfest I saw people mosh to Candlemass so nothing should surprise me any more.

Yeah it is true that the more you move away from the mainstream the less ninja's there are unless it is underground metalcore, slam death and such.

Freakin' ninjas...they are everywhere....

I gotta say I don't know anybody like that. With my friends they either totally detest metal or live and breath it as a religion. If I go to a metal gig I expect chaos and and a massive fucking mosh pit. What you're describing sounds more like something you'd find at a pop punk concert or maybe even metalcore. ....But then I'm not familiar with Whitechapel so i wouldn't know what to expect from their fans

I've never seen br00tal ninjas at any show I've been to; most of which are thrash shows. Awesome moshing though, got punched in the stomach and lost my cellphone.

Maybe I used to listen to a few crappy bands... heck, I still do. Yes, I do admit some bands I listen to are crappy. It's just a guilty pleasure.

Usually we create a metal union of mosh pit heads and run out the ninjas.

One of the reasons I have no faith in the future of humanity.

It's simply out of control, it simply ruins the shows.

Makes me wonder though, if people who were raised in the the NWOBHM got pissed when thrashers started doing circle pits.

I wish that I could say that from out here in California. Those ninjas hit up every kind of metal show.

Those pesky ninjas.. I remember this one of them at a Deicide show. Needless to say he stopped what he was doing in a hurry

When I go to shows I see the hardcore kids who do the karate, skinheads, and you got your posers, tagalongs, and then of course the actual metalheads trying to enjoy the show in the midst of the other bullshit. I saw a kid wearing a marilyn manson shirt with which had to be a 8 inch flatop at a morbid angel show.

America.


There is only a small percentage of us in America that are actual metal heads. The rest are there to just look the part. Living in America, you should know this.


On that subject.....I went and saw 1349 a couple years ago. There was a kid there with a painted upside down cross on his face. You can only guess the shirt he was wearing.......Devil wears Prada

I am with you on that. Honestly its whole lot of work to remember thousands of genres and who belongs where. Its pointless. I think the base genres are ok just because it does inform you....Death metal, black metal, viking/folk metal, classic metal, doom. There really is not a need for much more.

I hate to say it but it's really the only way to explain it. The deathcore scene has thousands of different names for things. Just the other day someone was telling about bands in a Genre called Nitendocore. WTF?

Great band, but who really cares about what the mini-genre is. Nitendocore is the stupidest sounding name for music.
