Is there a way to search for V/A compilation albums on the database here?

filter by type

I have seen some add guitar solo as guest do we have guitar solo as instrument
I saw MC Vice add it , then I saw Lex and Johan as well and Johan did this year
so I thought we use only guitars not even lead, rtyhme ,acoustic just guitars ?
are there new rules now?

since technically guitar solos are not instrument its just what he plays ...

since technically guitar solos are not instrument its just what he plays ...

it isn't being done a lot, but has been done as far back as Thryce. While it is preferred to just put down "guitars" it is no big deal to specify that it was only a "guitar solo". We do this already with backing vocals as well. Either way is fine.

Does Nader Sadek actually play anything in his self named band? http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/band.php?band_id=6151&bandname=Nader+Sadek
If not, can Demonaz get added back into Immortal, cause he's always been their lyricist, even after he couldn't play guitar anymore.

That's a good question. I don't see an issue with Demonaz being listed, everybody who knows anything about Immortal knows he writes most, if not all, of their lyrics. And I believe I read somewhere that even though he can't play anymore he still helped write some of the music.

I'll bring it up with my constituents.

There is only 1 immortal song (on Battles...) that he didn't write the lyrics for. He also co-wrote at least half of the songs he played on. No non-lyrical writing credits since Blizzard Beasts, though (I think). He also wrote the lyrics to I's album.

If we do this lyric stuff add as lyricist then we need to do others as well, there was many such bands, guys add lyricist into position as well, ... so ... it wont be fair to others

Well, Demonaz is still considered to be part of Immortal, even though he doesn't perform anymore. If whats-his-face in that other band I can't remember now counts, so should Demonaz.

What is difference between + updaes and +fav in a band profile?
Those what we add to fav we get updates as well as nots about every new change in band profile, but what does give us updates

Is there any way to add a tour with different support bands in every individual gig? Or add a support band to a bunch of individual gigs?

What I'm doing right now is adding the tour with the bands that play on ALL the gigs, and then editting each gig to include the support band.

That is how you do it. You add the tour with the bands at all gigs, then individually edit every event worth different support bands.

Welp. I'll keep doing it this way.

But it's kind of a dull job, I'm sure that some option to edit more than one gig at once would make it easier.

The issue though is devising such a way, which I can't think of.

As a user you do not have the necessary perms to add or remove dates of a tour. What you'll have to do is add the date as an event and put the tour name in the comments section so the Staff who checks the event knows to attach it to the tour.

I can't seem to find it now but a while ago there was a discussion on cases like Lurker Of Chalices where the musician wants to express his creativeness and originality by naming the Demo the same name as the Album (or with EPs on other cases) hence preventing the user to link it on lists. And it turns out that the problem was solved (for this case) by adding a [Demo] on the title.

So I'm asking... Should the same though be carried on the other cases as well? With the same format? Adding an additional [] after the title?
Because I must say, even though it fixes the fact that it couldn't be linked on lists, I must say it feels kinda weird on the eyes when you open the profile page, since the Demo tag (not the one that is part ofd the title, the actual tag that you select when you add the album) is also there making the title read as OmgMyAlbumName [Demo] [Demo].

One way to fix both things at the same time would be programming in such a way the tag not wouldn't appear aside the title as if it was part of it, or program the lists so that the tag could work as part of the title, so you would link it as
band|album [Demo]|description
but I take it that it would be much effort... So I dunno.

Metal Storm done a terrific work to pull off April Prank by doing nothing. I really hope it is making a buzz around on other webzines.
