Don't even try it

I have in my hands once again an album of Pop Gothic outfit from Poland, Closterkeller, and it seems that with each album the band becomes softer, leaving all the Metal influences behind. This album proves that perfectly, this is pure Gothic Rock with a lot of Pop influences.

And it's not an album per se, just a couple of new songs, and the rest is mostly covers and remixes. The covers, as you might expect are from Pop bands like A-Ha and Tears For Fears. One thing that I must say is that the album cover is truly great, the whole graphic layout is very professional and is really appealing to the eyes.

Sadly, I found the music quite simplistic and crude, first song "Lunar" has nothing special to talk about, maybe next one "Neo" has more elements to make it an interesting song. Then the covers, First "Minor Earth Major Sky" originally performed by A-Ha, then a tribute to famous child abus... err Pop king Michael Jackson with "Earth Song" (a really bad choice of cover if you ask me), finally "Mad World" a rendition of Tears For Fears song. To sum things up, a couple of dance remixes of the song "Reghina", as you might assume, totally preposterous and laughable. Specially the "Closter Trance FP Formula Mix" God save us all.

Closterkeller is definitively trying to reach for an wider audience, each album the Pop elements become more and more obvious, so my main question is, what are they doing on a Metal-oriented label as Metal Mind Records?
