I received this album to review a couple of weeks ago; to be honest Gezoleen was a blank name to me and it didn't ring any bells; so obviously I started doing my homework, and finally I found a review (I won't say where for evident reasons *cough MR cough*) spitting on this album for its "experimental" approaches, then I immediately tossed this CD on my stereo right? The first think I though was "oookay, so that reviewer was a full packaged idiot no doubt".

Black Spaces Between Stars liquefies your brain leaving you senseless with every bone in your body broken; It's one hell of an experience, so intense and so dark that not many will be capable to comprehend, the monstrous fearlessness hidden in this doomed experiment is as complex as you can get believe it or not. After all it's Jeff McLeod creating bizarre music, not ringing any bells? Well, he's a big name in the "Improvised Music" scene; he also plays bass in The Rudy Banes Shutdown and in Liquid Brick; all in all he's one hell of an artist.

So anyway, about the album; the music (you can give any other name) is a rare fusion between Noise, Punk, Dark Ambient and Doom and some Humorous undertones; one thing is for sure, this is not an easygoing record, most of the songs are really thick and freaking strong, so don't expect to be submerged into a bowl of peaches and plums or whatever thing, on the contrary, this album is a sickening incident wrapped in black blood and terrifying subliminal sounds that will make you want to kill something with it on the background.

Am I recommending this piece? Hell yeah I am; but be careful if you are weak and you get scared with Noise and that kind of stuff. This thing is only worthwhile for the avant-garde hordes seeking for new forms of music and a hot chick on the artwork, for the innovative minds don't think twice when buying this album.

Best Tracks: "Suit Dissolves Flesh" (this one is a masterpiece indeed), "To Paint A Man", "Interspecies Disappointment"
