Top Metal Albums Each Year I Have Been Alive, 1990


A little list series where I list my top 20 favorite metal albums every year starting from the year I was born in.

1990 is the year where my all time favorite metal album came out, I had to make some tough cuts for this list especially Danzig ii, Riot's The Privilege Of Power and Suicidal Tendencies's Lights... Camera... Revolution. Also I respect Pantera more than I like there music and the same for Entombed

Metal's finest year - a year where every band was getting faster and darker than ever before!
My top albums of 1990 would be:

3. Death - Spiritual Healing
4. Slayer - Seasons in the Abyss

But Slayer getting faster on Seasons than on Reign in Blood? Naaah....

Good point
But this was when death metal was really hitting its stride, JP had their most ferocious album, Schuldiner was getting more technical, Megadeth released their fastest album ("Poison was the cure" is faster than anything off their debut album, right?), and even Necrophobic released one of their first demos, foreshadowing black/death metal

Yah for me the early nineties ware the golden age of old school death metal, my next couple of lists will be dominated by death metal albums, that why I'm limiting there number albums with the same genre to just 4 or 5, I want to add more variety

One of the best years in metal history! For me the pinnacle of both death and thrash metal.
