Marrasmieli - Between Land And Sky

What a brilliant killer album, its like all others in genres, but new ideas, another band, simply brilliant.

It's a lot more aggressive and melodic than atmospheric, but it works, particularly due to the thinner mix that gives it that old school do-it-yourself vibe.

The folk elements are welcome and thankfully not overwhelming, though at times they just seem to be thrown in for the sake of it. As for the vocals, they're standard material, but again the mixing lets that throaty rasp shine through. The piano is probably the best utilized instrument of the bunch, buoying the playful guitar work, and the violin and choir stuff make for a nice touch. Not quite on the level as Woods Of Desolation, but given more time to experiment with their sound, I think they could break that ground, only with a more joyous atmosphere.

Write a rewiev, it was long time ago when you did it

My new position at work leaves me a lot less personal time than before (working an additional 10-14 hours a week on top of the 42 I was already worked) so these mini-reviews are all I can muster at the moment.

I'll try to get back to full reviews, but they won't be as frequent as before.

Change work then, i work 80 percent now. One week 6 days, then are free 4 days.
