Every city in the goddamn world has at least two stoner rock acts, usually some band name involving "weed", "bong", "dope" or "Satan". Not that stoner rock has a monopoly on being an overly saturated genre, but finding stuff that really feels like it sticks with you is relatively rare. The early 70's-era psych-styled vocals are a nice juxtaposition against the downtuned chugging guitars, which combine really well with the gaze-like atmosphere. It's warm and pleasing on the ears but doesn't offer much in terms of actual substance. Had there been more emphasis on proper riffs instead of plodding for almost the entire duration of the album, I would have scored this higher.
