Against Myself is a symphonic metal band from Spain, formed in 2009. At the time of writing, they have released four studio albums, along with the odd single and their debut EP. The first two of said studio albums have been essentially unremarkable symphonic metal with slightly proggy influences. Their third studio album, Unity, is what I consider quite frankly one of the best symphonic metal albums ever. Now, four years later, guitarist Charly Carretón has now taken over full drum duties, while many new members have taken over the other instruments, most notably new vocalist, Elizabeth Amoedo.

I really like the previous album, and seeing most members are new, hopefully the songwriting direction isn't any different. I liked the last singer's voice too, so we'll see how this goes.

Edit: First singles are ok, the vocals are fine but I preferred older singer. No idea what to expect with full album, looks like there will be an epic for the closer, and the last album had an excellent epic.

Official statement:
NEW RELEASE DATE FOR “TIDES OF INSANITY”
The release of our new album “Tides Of Insanity” has been postponed to April 21st since due to logistical reasons we have suffered production delays.
We haven’t been able to announce anything before because until today we haven’t been able to guarantee a new release date. We are very sorry for the wait but we promise that it will be worth it, we are putting our souls in what is and will be the best album of the band to date. Pre-sales will remain open until April 21st and, in gratitude for your patience and support, all pre-sale orders will have an extra gift.
Thank you very much for your understanding and all the support you give us every day.

Not quite as enjoyable as the previous, but still solid. Vocals now and then get a bit too Tarja-esque, but it's not a big issue.

Edit: really loving it on relistens, one of the best symphonic albums of the last few years. That epic is just insane. I thought their last one was a 10/10 but this song is even better... How does that happen?

Loved this album! Shocked at the fact that they are almost entirely unknown considering they've been around since 2009 and producing quality music such as this. If you enjoy female fronted symphonic metal, you absolutely have to give this album a listen to.

Most of the tracks are fine, but man, that closer... even better than their last album's closer! Which was already pretty damn good. It's almost like the band would be better off just making 15+ minute epics
