Dreary, leafless trees, mist, gloomy light, a figure, alone. Remembrance's cover artwork on their latest effort Fall, Obsidian Night says it all, in deep shades of grey and brown, a beautiful first impression to say the least. You guessed correctly, this band from France moves in melodic funeral doom/death metal soundscapes and with their third full-length they appear more balanced in what they want to express, more mature and highly emotional for one more time. It's common secret that almost everything has been said and done in terms of post-90s doom metal scene, yet despite the overall sound diffusion, pure emotion and expression from the heart of the artist straight to the heart of the listener hasn't ceased to be.
