One of the best Stoner Rock albums of 2014. Quite Underrated band if you ask me, solid solid stuff, this is Stoner essential right here.

Listen Musclassia: I'm really happy for you and I'm gonna let you finish... But Gravity X has one of the best stoner metal/rock opening songs of all time. ONE OF THE BEST OF ALL TIMES.
Seriously... Listen to Desert Cruiser and have yourself a gooooooooooooooooooood time.

You might want to see a doctor if you're hallucinating. It's usually a sign of a more significant issue.

Two amazing songs: Mind Control and Get Lifted. On the other hand The Chairman and Mastodont sound weak to me, which makes almost 22 minutes of rather negligible material. Prophet and Dream Sale are good, but not quite anything amazing. So, not one of the stronger TF albums IMo, I rarely listen other than those two songs I mentioned in the beginning.

Crazy you mention those being weak tracks as they always stood out to me as personal favorites among their discography let alone from the album. It's "Convention" and "Dream Sale" that serve as weaker/filler tracks to me. But I agree with "Mind Control" and "Get Lifted" getting the amazing nod. Shades of Gravity X without losing the distinctive modernity of their recent material.

Yeah, it's been a while since I listened to it but I defo remember liking The Chairman and Mastodont a lot. I think overall I prefer Universe to Gravity X, but again it's been a while since I've listened to either

What sets Gravity X apart from the rest of their discography for me is just how much emphasis there is on groovy riffs and the fuzzy atmosphere. I know that describes their style across every release but those elements were dialed up to 11 with that one in particular. As their sound matured they began to develop slightly unconventional tactics and pushed forward with a crisp and polished sound comparatively, but I enjoy all of their albums for what they are as individual experiences, much like I do with Baroness and Mastodon.

Well, I'm not totally sold on the band's longer songs on this album and V, they've some good moments, like Mastodont gets pretty good after the first 7 mins 50 secs, and The Chairman has good start and ending but in the middle there's some filler. I guess my preference, though, with this band is those groovy and fuzzy moments instead of the proggier ones and longer songs.
Gravity X has been a fuzz masterpiece since the first listen I heard it and I think it would be REALLY hard to hold a candle to such an album. Yes it might be called a little bit narrow in songwriting and may kind of seem to have the "playing it safe approach" after hearing their later albums, but I prefer it that way, when the songs are really strong pieces. I'm surprised too see musclassia saying Universe is better than Gravity X and the rating only 8
