Single sounds excellent. Blackened sludge though? More like Gojira gone deathy post- / sludge doom.

Love how these guys approach death metal from this angle. I have felt threatened the whole time.

At well over an hour long it's a lot to take in but this one is winning me over more and more with every listen. It's like a creeper vine, slowly suffocating the life out of everything it touches.

Man, I love every second of it. The atmosphere is quite haunting, as well as soothing sometimes. Curious contrast. Good shit.

There are some doomy parts, especially in the song "Citadel". This is truly a very different kind of metal. Repetitive drumming patterns, howling tones all add to the atmosphere. The Atavist's Meridian is a fucking beast.
