Several of my friends collect physical games. They would still buy the box to be able to display it. I get that. I still buy vinyls, even though streaming services exist.

The idea to still produce cases but with a code, not disc, is absurd to me though. Like a vinyl record cover without disc. Wtf

Plus, most games can't be released on disc anymore anyway. GTA 6, for example, would have to release on six bluray discs.

Quite the opposite. Gated store fronts allow them to dictate prices and prevent re-selling. They all want to be Nintendo, and it will work just the same.
