Brainchild of vocalist/guitarist Rami Hermunen, Nightstryke was founded as a solo project in late 2015. The first demo 'The First Stryke' was released on 1st of June the following year and it gained some attention to the band which was about to form.

The first line-up (though short-lived) was formed a month after releasing 'The First Stryke' and it consisted of Rami Hermunen (vocals, guitars), Eric Taponen (guitars), Leevi Lehtinen (bass) and Jesse Sorsa (drums). After a few months though, it was time for Taponen to leave the project and in came a young, red-headed Juho Karppinen with his lightning fast fingers.
With this line-up the band started to write new songs and started to plan on an album 'Power Shall Prevail'.

Shortly before starting to record their debut album in summer of 2017, the drummer Jesse Sorsa thought that it was time for him to leave.
So the Mr. Karppinen programmed the drums for the debut album and the band started to record.

'Power Shall Prevail' was released on 15th of September 2017 to much critical acclaim.
The band started to gain more and more followers around the globe and planned to play multiple gigs with the help of their live drummer, Joonas Härkönen.
Sadly though, only one gig was played with this lineup in the Heavy Metal Cauldron warm-up show (main event hosted such names as Exciter and Venom Inc.) because few days after the gig a very skillful bassist and a good friend Leevi "Lightning" Lehtinen passed away in a car accident.
The band had to take a break.

But Nightstryke soldiered on! With the mentality of 'Power Shall Prevail' they recruited new members Antti Selenius (drums) and Vilppu Nurminen (bass) to the band and started to rehearse harder than ever.
With this lineup Nightstryke is in a better shape than ever and ready to cause widespread auditory annihilation all over the world spreading the gospel of Heavy Metal!
