It has been said in the Doctrine of Transcendental Magic that the name of Jehovah resolves into seventy-two explicatory names, called Shemhamphorash. The art of employing these seventy-two names and discovering therein the keys of universal science is the art which is called by Kabalists the Keys of Solomon.

Barcelona, April 1996: Wilhkiem (vocals, bass), Mikkäl (guitars) and Nechrist (drums) gathered to create music based on their strong life philosophy which they could share and express, Black Art, and thus Shemhamphorash was created. With a raw and fast black metal approach, the band started playing live shows for a short period until new members were recruited, QLA44Z50 (keyboards, vocals) and Cremaster (guitar).

After two years of hard work and rehearsals, their first opus was born: Shemhamphorash, showing a more mature band with new musical boundaries a la early Emperor and Gehenna. Later on, QLA44Z50 quit the band so the music's direction changed to a more aggressive approach while more complicated arrangements were added to the songs. This evolution gave birth to Dementia, the band's second opus, released by American label Blackmoon Productions. Due to the good feedback received from that album, the band extended their live shows to foreign shores and gained a good status among the black metal underground.

In 2006 the band signed a contract with Erzsebet Records.

With no time to waste, after the extensive gigs, the band decided to go a step further and spent almost 4 years creating the best black metal Opus in years: Sulphur. Good production and mastering was essential, so album recordings took long, a year in fact. Everything had to be perfect and superior. The result is astonishing occult black metal at its best! 9 invocations were created and the gates were opened.
