Biography

Birmingham, England - renowned for genre-defining bands such as Black Sabbath, Anaal Nathrakh and Napalm Death, is still growing strong with fresh new bands on the cusp of success. Meet Morgue Orgy: Carter (Keys), Gray (Vocals), Pence (Guitars), Prok (Guitars), Tom (Drums), Tris (Bass).

Having only formed in 2008, Morgue Orgy immediately caught the attention and support of the local music community, and not only in the metal scene. Within just a few live shows, Morgue Orgy gained the reputation of the most entertaining band on the scene, with a blistering live performance mixing professionalism with intricate brutality and infectious humour. This led to an instant following, combined with endorsements from Halo Guitars and Knucklehead Strings (USA) and Protection Racket drum cases (UK) as well as sponsorship from Birmingham Drum Centre.

An instant hit on stage, the band entered the studio to record The River And I, with producer Owen Davies and was mastered by Dan Weller and Justin Hill (SikTh) at WellerHill Studios. The release sparked initial interest from producer Russ Russell (Dimmu Borgir, Napalm Death, Evile) who has expressed a desire to record Morgue Orgy in the future. Reviews of the EP followed, showing a growing interest from abroad, especially Germany and Greece. Back home media attention included spins on Kerrang! Radio and inclusion on the cover mount CD's of both Terrorizer and Zero Tolerance magazines. This led to Morgue Orgy being chosen to play the very first Terrorizer Grindhouse show in Birmingham and later in London.

Immediately following the widespread grassroots success of 'The River And I' with sales and reviews coming from as far as Greece and Australia, Morgue Orgy began to focus back on their live performance as the key to their success. They performed extensively around Birmingham to continue to build up a following, supporting major-label bands such as Anaal Nathrakh, Fukpig, Trigger The Bloodshed and Malefice. As the name Morgue Orgy spread outside of the Midlands, Morgue Orgy finally took their live show round the country to further promote 'The River And I' and to gain more fans.

As the band began to write new, stronger material to improve their sound, they were handpicked to play at the Bloodstock Open Air Festival in 2010 playing with bands such as Suffocation, Bloodbath, Gojira and Children Of Bodom. This festival appearance sparked further interest from the industry such as Coffin Cases, which led to another endorsement for the band, and Jägermeister Music, who have kept a keen eye on the band since adding them to their list of bands to sponsor in the future.

In September 2010, Morgue Orgy headed back to the studio to record Murders Most Foul, featuring the songs that the band hail as the reason as to why they were picked for Bloodstock. Recorded at Loud Noises studio with Owen Davies (The River And I), the EP showcases a faster, more intense Morgue Orgy, mixing Death, Black, Thrash and Grind music, along with guest vocals from Dave Hunt (Anaal Nathrakh) in an intense flurry of riffs and melody. This aggressive new sound instantly led to label interest, with FETO Records offering to release the EP digitally with an aim to reach a wider audience and capture more media attention.

To date, Morgue Orgy have been preparing for the release of Murders Most Foul, which they are promoting with a full spread of U.K. shows, brand new merchandise and a highly entertaining music video for fan favourite "Maniac".
