News from Ensiferum guitarist Markus Toivonen . He broke leg, wont join band to this show Dear friends in Brazil, I had a serious accident after arriving home from the North American tour. I broke my left ankle, and it was serious enough to require open surgery: they literally inserted metal in my ankle. I have a cast on my leg until the 15th of May. Unfortunately, I just found out after my check-up that I cannot join the Ensiferum show at Bangers Open Air on the 3rd of May. I was begging my doctor several times to give me permission to join the trip to Brazil, but he refused since there’s a very high risk of getting a blood clot while having a cast on during the long flight. Also, the airline will need a doctor’s approval for flying over six hours with a cast. So there is no way for me to get there. This is a very sad moment for me because I’ve been waiting for a long time to come and play at Bangers Open Air. Luckily, our four superheroes: Petri, Sami, Janne, and Pekka, will be there and they will give all of you the most magnificent show. My parts will be played from the backing tracks, so the show is not missing anything else except my beer belly 😃 I’m so sorry for the bad news. See you all next time, and there will be a resurgence of Super-Mahi.
