Is this normally like a pop festival or something? Is that why you are surprised at those two bands?
The logo for the festival does look a little.. fruity..

it is. las year's line-up featured, among others, Nelly Furtado. unfortunately this means that the ticket will be damn expensive considering there's little to see.

btw, i've heard of a rumor that there will be no daily passes, only whole festival tickets. can anyone confirm this?

it is kinda like a pop festival, though as you can see from the line-up so far the emphasis is on the metal side...

also the last day is the "metal day" which this year featured judas priest, primal fear and ross the boss. the reason i was surprised is that it's pretty much the first time when TWO huge metal bands come here for pretty much the same venue(Whitesnake and Def Leppard don't count!)

i mean, manowar was enough for me, motorhead i'm not a huge fan of, but i might go see them for teh lulz. imo motorhead isn't as interesting live as primal fear or priest, not to mention manowar.

Motörhead was damn great, too bad it had to be a festival, not to mention it was the only band worth seeing in the otherwise stinky lineup...

ahem... Manowar, HolyHell, Trooper?

You actually saying you like HolyHell?

My God they were by far the worst band at Hellfest. They were downright atrocious with a horrible vocalist. A horrendous band that only gets attention because they are on the Manowar label. Band such as Epica are infinitely superior to that HolyHell crap.

i didn't listen to much of their stuff, i only find them an interesting band as no other band plays Manowar-like metal but with female vocals(Warlock doesn't count but i'm sure you're gonna say they suck too lol). plus i love their cover of Phantom of the Opera.

Warlock imo only has one good album and Doro solo none. And the only good Warlock album is Burning The Witches.

i can see now why you don't like Holyhell, they play pretty generic half-assed "atmospheric" power metal.. at least the guitarist and keyboardist are pretty good, and they have lots of fun on stage, especially the woman, she's always smiling for some reason

Manowar were pretty good, i wrote a mini-review in the "last concert you attended" thread

Ahm...i was talking about the whole festival , but it's just a matter of taste i suppose...maybe i am a WIMP, A POSER, but honestly, i feel that Motörhead was indeed worth seeing and it sure had balls, as always! Eh...who knows...
