@Corrupt: My friend interviewed him not long before his death and it was sad and painful to hear. Clearly the death of his brother broke him. And alcoholism. He was drunk even long before the show.
Yeah I know, Chidder. Not having a band and a touring schedule probably still didn't help in his situation. I have a special place in my heart for the guy. Met him several times and he was just an absolute sweetheart every time.
The Brixton Academy or Brixton is one of London's leading music venues. Situated in Brixton, South London, England, the 4,921 capacity building has hosted a range of leading rock acts since becoming a music venue in 1983.
These pictures are not entirely correct, as it is only sometimes seated, for metal gigs this place will have the seats removed and that seating chart is meaningless, the upstairs seats will also not be allocated.
But it will say on the ticket seated or general admission, but the seating is part of the club, right?
When you buy your ticket, general admission will be downstairs standing and upstairs is all seated and is a part of the venue. This is of the worst upstairs seated venue in London or so I've been told. apparently the view of the stage is quite poor... I've never actualy been upstairs. I'm not certain but i'm pretty sure that if you buy an upstairs seated ticket you don't get a particular seat number on your ticket you just sit anywhere.
This basicaly just a poor venue, the sound is horrendous... and its got an annoying slant downwards where the standing is. I much prefer the Astoria or The Forum for similar sized venues, but the Astoria is getting knocked down in a few years....
