The successor to 2019's In Cauda Venenum was recorded at Rockfield Studios in Monmouthshire, Wales with additional recordings at Hammerthorpe Studios, Flowcreations Studios and The Tower Studios. Mixed at Atlantis and Hammerthorpe in Stockholm, Sweden. Mastered at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. Pre-orders available by heading over here. You can listen to the first single, the album's opening track, down under.Concurrently, the Swedes have also confirmed a first set of European 2025 shows (support by Grand Magus).

Opeth announce that the will release In Cauda Venenum (Extended Edition) on May 13th via Atomic Fire Records. Available as a Digipak, it contains the English and Swedish versions of bands's latest album, with new illustrations in the booklet. This extended edition will also include three previously unreleased bonus tracks, both in English and Swedish: "The Mob" / "Pöbeln", "Width Of A Circle" / "Cirkelns Riktning" and "Freedom & Tyranny" / "Frihet & Tyranni". Due to conflict of interests, drummer Martin Axenrot is no longer part of the Swedish prog masters Opeth. Martin was part of the band since 2006. Sami Karppinen (ex-Therion) will step in for the North American tour with Mastodon and Zeal & Ardor. The tour starts today in Asheville, North Carolina.
