Here we are!
Hellfest will be upon you soon and we started building the structures under the enjoyment of nice, shiny and hot weather, let's hope that it will still be good when the festivalgoers will arrive in Clisson.
In 15 days, the festival will start and until today 14 000 tickets have been sold. 75% of the tickets are already booked and the festival will probably be sold-out! Great news!
We know that a lot of you have kept some money aside for a couple of months to be able to come to the fest but it's time to react, so act fast now!
As always Hellfest will be a real people melting-pot, because 35% of the audience will come from outside of France. More than 50 different nationalities will be at Clisson, from Argentine to Bosnia, Korea or Saudi Arabia! But our friends from Great Britain who will be the most this year since they have already bought more than 2000 3-Day tickets!
We invite all the hell-bangers from all around the world to bring along their country's flag so we can have a memorable "flag weekend"!

We are sorry to tell you that, once again, some changes have occurred in the festival's line-up? KMFDM was forced to cancel and will be replaced by CLUTCH, one of the most influential bands of the US' Rock scene, who will be back at the forefront of the scene this year with their new album "Strange Cousin From The West".
Also, KORITNI and BLACK STONE CHERRY will switch their positions. KORITNI will now play on the Saturday at 14h25 and BLACK STONE CHERRY will play on the Sunday at 11h00.

Here the Hell we are !
Two months before the beginning of the biggest Metal festival ever organized in France we can finally give you some fresh news:
DEICIDE cancelled and will be replaced by REPULSION, one of the fathers of Grind/Death Metal. It's great to have heard about them but nothing beats seeing them live and you'll have that opportunity at Hellfest this year.

Despite what was written in the official program, the three headliners will get the possibility to play a real full length set. Spread some words about it: Mötley Crüe, Marilyn Manson and Manowar will not be at Hellfest for nothing and will have the right to play as long as they want (1h, 1h30 or even more!).
The official programs (in French) are released. You'll find it in French musical shops, through our street teams and in the next French Rock Hard (May/June issue). A program will be send along with each purchase from the Hellfest Shop (www.hellfestshop.com).

Some changes happened on Hellfest 2009 line-up... Here is the official announcement of the festival.
"We are sorry to tell you that some changes have occurred in the line up of the festival. EDGUY, was forced to cancel because of some logistic problems, NACHTMYSTIUM's singer just broke his leg and will be out for 4 months and SLAPSHOT has postponed its tour.
Unfortunately, ASPHYX won't be able to play either due to a misunderstanding.
Do not fret! As replacements, we didn't choose 2nd tier bands? SAINT VITUS will be back to France for the first time since 1991, making Friday our "DOOMsday"! The mystic KARMA TO BURN joins the line up on the 19th of June, such a great band was a must have. Finally, BLACK STONE CHERRY and SAMAEL will also play at Hellfest 2009.
Please also note two important name changes. BLOODCLOT will tour under the name of the legendary CRO-MAGS and GORGOROTH have become GOD SEED! Both bands will play at the festival but under these new names.
Sorry again for those last minute changes, we hope that we won't need to announce any more cancelations in the future.

Hello everybody!
Here we are! After a lot of discussions, negotiations and real headaches, we are now able to give you the last confirmed names of the 2009 festival edition.
We promised you eclecticism, and as you can see we didn't lie! Traditional heavy metal, indus, grind, glam, hardcore, prog? everything is perfectly consistent with what we want to do with the Hellfest: An extremely specialized yet open-minded event!
The presence of a few really famous bands known by a large audience didn't distract us from our goal to develop the metal genres which made the reputation of the festival. The extreme metalheads will headbang at the new ROCK HARD TENT, which can welcome up to 6,000 people and where a lot of death, black, grind and other bands will put you in a trance.
The TERRORIZER TENT will give the opportunity to the metal elitists but also to the curious metalheads to discover forgotten genres, unfortunately forsaken by the audience and the media! On this stage, hardcore, grindcore, stoner and other doom bands will defend the image and the vocation of the festival!
Let's not wait any longer, and discover the new bands which have been added to this year's festival line-up. We hope you will be delighted!

Hello everyone!
As promised, here is the list to be added to the one of December 2008! Nobody will be surprised to see names to satisfy all those who are fans of Hellfest and it will be Christmas all over again!
Who can already boast having seen the fathers of American Doom, PENTAGRAM the American Black Sabbath founded by Bobby Liebling who, unfortunately, didn't have as much fame but, nevertheless remains THE reference for all fans of these slow and wicked musics! The first and only date in Europe will be at Hellfest! the real godfather of US Doom!
Not to forget without whom such artists as Neurosis, Napalm Death, Sepultura and many others, would never have found their different sounds! The inventor of Crust, AMEBIX is back in europe for one date only, connaisseurs will be happy and all others will listen attentively as extreme music wouldn't be the same without them!
The New Orleans scene figures in this year's addition as it was the where Sludge first appeared in the 80's so, we are proud to announce thet EYEHATEGOD, SOILENT GREEN, and KINGDOW OF SORROW will be there to swell the ranks on which promises to be a very special day! NOLA should also be there. Watch this space.......
The French connection will be present too! GOJIRA, DAGOBA who are getting stonger and stronger, ADAGIO and BLOCKHEADS will be there for your delight!
Fans of Extreme Metal will be delighted to see NACHTMYSTIUM a popular American Black Metal band, TAAKE the Scandinavian group and finally, DEICIDE, PESTILENCE, KATAKLYSM, MOONSORROW, KEEP OF KALSSIN and ABORTED will be present. But the biggest part is yet to come, the main course is served but the dessert will amaze the most brutal amongst you! Patience..
Last but not least, more hardcore than last year, the return of VISION OF DISORDER for one date only in europe, our national mad men KICKBACK, BLOODCLOT with former members of Cro-mags, Biohazard and Merauder, BETRAYED, SLAPSHOT, BLACK DALHIA MURDER, DESPISED ICON, AUGUST BURN RED and TERROR so many names.
And finally, and (we hope) that they won't cancel COALESCE are expected. Also VOLBEAT for all head-banging fans of Motorhead and WASP, UFOMAMMUT for all cavemen and GIRLSCHOOL with the ravishing JARBOE showing us that women have their place in this great festival!

Metal Storm and HellFest Production are proud to officially present the first 38 names for the Hellfest Open Air 2009 festival, set to take place June 19-21 in Clisson, France.
The headliners of the festival will be Manowar and Heaven And Hell. Other bands on the bill include Anthrax, Amon Amarth, Sacred Reich, Stratovarius, The Misfits, Gorgoroth, Epica, Destruction, Cathedral, Napalm Death, Entombed, DevilDriver, Enslaved, Backyard Babies, Heaven Shall Burn, Melechesh, Misery Index, God Forbid, The Business, Mad Sin, Aura Noir, Electric Wizard, Orange Goblin, Grand Magus, Gama Bomb, Whitechapel, Suicide Silence, Wolves In The Throne Room, Torche, Kylesa, Outlaw Order, Parkway Drive, All Shall Perish, Forged In Flame, Friar Rush and Holy Hell.
Seventy more bands (including a third headliner) are still missing and will be announced in the next few months. Next to the main stage, second stage and discovery stage, the 2009 edition will also have another fourth stage mainly covering punk and hardcore bands.
This very evening also marks the official sneak preview party of the new Hellfest 2008 DVD, held in five cities all around France (Paris, Nantes, Grenoble, Toulouse and Lyon). Next to a preview showing of the Hellfest DVD, these parties will also exclusively reveal the first 30 bands of the 2009 edition. The Hellfest DVD will be released tomorrow (November 28), but a trailer can already be watched in high quality at this location.
