Dew-Scented - Working On New Album
2013 was truly an eventful year for German metallers Dew-Scented. The band released a special anniversary compilation Insurgent, toured Europe with Testament in April, performed at several outstanding festivals (including the inaugural Full Metal Cruise as well as Wacken Open Air) and then finished the year by touring Europe again with Death Angel. Leaving that behind, the main focus for Dew-Scented in 2014 will be the intense work on their 10th full-length studio album, which shall see the light in early 2015, tentatively.
The band states regarding the work on their new studio album and other plans: "2014 is scheduled to be a quieter year, since we are focusing on writing the follow-up album to 2012′s Icarus release. We have gathered about eight really strong songs so far and are currently working on a couple more. The material is as relentless as you would expect it from Dew-Scented, but also shows different new elements in the mix, since everyone (Marvin, Rory, Joost and Koen) is bringing in ideas and writing contributions this time. As things look right now, we should be ready to start recordings around summer and are aiming at an early 2015 release date for the album. More news about that soon.
In the meantime, Dew-Scented will obviously also be playing some selected live-dates throughout 2014: First off, we are heading to Japan together with our Metal Blade labelmates The Black Dahlia Murder and Fleshgod Apocalypse in April. This is the third time for us to visit Japan and a first since 2005's 'Extreme The Dojo' dates with High On Fire and Misery Signals. We truly look forward to meeting our faithful thrash brothers and sisters over there soon. It's been too long!
For June, Dew-Scented have just been confirmed to support Arizona thrash legends Sacred Reich on three club shows (Hamburg, Eindhoven and Groningen). And afterwards the band will also appear at a few open air festival events. Germany's With Full Force is the first one announced for early July and we can't wait to play there, since it's also a third time there for us and a first since 2005 as well. For the rest of 2014, only a few more dates will be added and made public in the coming weeks?"
