Exodus - New Song Streaming Online

The moment has arrived to hear new music from Exodus. This is the first track we get to hear from the upcoming record Blood In, Blood Out and the first with Steve "Zetro" Souza on vocals since Tempo Of The Damned. The new track "Salt The Wound" features a guitar solo from none other than original Exodus guitarist Kirk Hammett. Without further ado, listen to "Salt The Wound" on the lyric video right here below.

How was that as an introduction to Exodus' new album?

Guitarist Gary Holt offered: "Having Kirk play on the new Exodus record kind of came about after I played so many shows with Metallica while touring with Slayer over the past four years. It started the same way most of these things do, as a lot of chatter while having a good time, but Kirk was more stoked to play on the new record than anyone. He never got to play on anything with Exodus since the first demo despite being a founding member, so I think it really meant a lot to him. Coming full circle so to speak. So I chose the song 'Salt The Wound' since I thought the rhythm section for the first lead was right in his wheelhouse, and he killed it! He came in and busted out several takes and his solo compliments mine perfectly. Then we drank beer and ate barbecue! Epic time!"

I don't know why, but I keep thinking this sounds very similar to a song that was on Tempo Of The Damned. A bit TOO similar, if you ask me...

It's still a good song, mind. I just think it reminds me a bit too much of another Exodus song from the previous album Souza was on.

Weak song, really. Nice to hear Zetro but that riff was more annoying than anything.

I go with Mr Crushing. Nihilistic. Cold. Terrifying here. Song came out to be satisfactory and nothing "wooaah" factor found in Kirk riffing. Good to see Zetro is back and I strongly feel his energy will give this record a good move(so in this new song).

Weak song, really. Nice to hear Zetro but that riff was more annoying than anything.

I thought Zetro actually sounded like shite compared to some of his previous performances and the song in general was totally boring Nuclear Blastified plastic averageness on every level

Figures since in some earlier interview some band member, I think it might have been Zetro, was claiming it would be TEH BEST X-O-DUSS ALBLUM EVARRRR!!! Not an exact quote, but you know.

Not bad. Great to hear Zetro back on an Exodus recording and Kirk's solo was good but wasn't overly impressive. The song itself is ok but I do hope there is better on the album which I am very much looking forward to hearing.

I hope they'll offer an instrumental version...Souza has so shitty vocals, I can't bear it. Yeah I know, Rob Dukes was not much better, but I miss the hardcore feeling...

Souza is probably the only reason worth listening to this song, sounds just as good as he did and cements his position as best Exodus vocalist. The instrumental is stale and those lyrics make Dethklok sound creative.

At least it's not 7 minutes long.

I enjoy the over the top vocals. The riffs and general feel is boring. No aggression, this really bad.

Well.
That was boring

By the way, I think it's great NB let us hear that riff a few more times there at the end. As if we hadn't heard it enough by that point...

Not bad, not their best either. I think this is a taste not an example of the best sogns on the new album. You now it will kick ass. It's fucking Exodus. All their albums kick fucking ass. One of the best thrash bands ever and their last two albums crushed the competitions IMO. I liked Rob Dukes and I like Souza, they both kick ass.
