Danish folk metallers Svartsot have announced their new album title and release dates. Their fourth album is being released in cooperation between Svartsot's newly established company, Of Wood And Iron Productions, and the Hungarian label Nail Records, the home to Dalriada. It drops on February 20th in Germany, Austria and Switzerland and three days later in the rest of Europe. A taster from Vældet can be heard in the form of the song "Kilden - I Marker og I Lunde" below.

The album is entitled Vældet, which means "The Spring" or "Well", and contains 8 tracks about medieval Danish Midsummer's Eve rituals: healing wells, the lighting of fires to ward off evil, echoes of ancient sacrifices, and more.







The songs are:

04. Allerkæresten min
05. Moder Hyld
06. Markedstid
07. I Mørkets Skær
08. Ved Vældets Vande

Direct pre-ordering will start at the latest a month before the release. The band is therefore counting on fans' support through pre-orders made directly from the band.

Cool cover. Song is okay. I like the acoustic implementation and that the flute is lower in the mix. I didn't really like the last album as much as Ravenes Saga. We shall see about this one.
