Five Finger Death Punch - Melt Down On Stage, Deny Break Up Rumors

Trouble in paradise? Five Finger Death Punch had a meltdown onstage during the band's performance in Memphis, Tennessee as part of the Beale Street Music Festival. Reportedly, the band cut its performance short after roughly six songs and walking off stage. This led some fans to speculate they were breaking up. However, the Los Angeles metallers have already dismissed these rumors. The band's frontman, Ivan Moody, has suggested that it was all due to technical problems and that the band fired some of their crew.

A message from Ivan Moody: "There were a lot of technical problems last night that were seemingly unsolvable. We had to make a decision whether to hit the stage crippled, without being able to hear ourselves; or, delay the start of the show - possibly for hours. We decided to proceed, but not being able to hear if I was in key, and just guessing where we were in the song frustrated me to the point that I lost my cool. I'm not saying I handled it appropriately. Matter of fact I've never been so embarrassed before. I apologize for taking out my anger on stage. You guys know me and you know how I pride myself on my live performances. I'd never want this to boil over in to something that epically wrong ever again.

"To some of our crew, good luck in your future endeavors we wish you the best - we also welcome our new monitor engineer Paul Weber. To our fans in Memphis - we'll make it up to you I promise, Houston we will see you tonight. The rest of the world - yes we are coming. And to the haters... wipe that smirk off your face ...We are not going anywhere ... This 'ain't my last dance!' We Got Your Six."

Drummer Jeremy Spencer also denied that the band is splitting up: "We did NOT break up! Thing's went sideways with technical issues. Ivan got pissed and took it out onstage. It was a bad night to say the least. He has since apologized. But we are 100% still a band and look forward to seeing you all on tour!"

Well, I may not be too big of a fan of them as a band, but as far as drama of this sort goes, that statement was about as good as it could have possibly been; direct and to-the-point, yet also humble enough to recognise one's own mistakes.

The event itself was ridiculous and unneccessary, but at least the following statement was good (as long as no 'extra' details pop up in the future that were excluded).

Dat ain't what some of their present fans are saying is what they witnessed first hand. But good on them for making a statement and at least appearing to have worked something out.

Cons: Five Finger Death Punch are still a band

Pros: Five Finger Death Punch are still a band, which means there won't be five new bands, which are all Five Finger Death Punch clones
