Blickle was part of the band's formative line-up from its inception in 2003 and remained a core member until 2013. His work with Baroness spanned the First and Second EP's, as well as the full-length releases Red Album, Blue Record and Yellow & Green.
Blickle's departure from Baroness followed some serious injuries sustained in a bus crash during the band's European tour in 2012.
The accident, which occurred near Bath, England, left several members hospitalized: frontman John Baizley suffered a broken arm and leg on his left side, while both Blickle and bassist Matt Maggioni sustained fractured vertebrae. As a result of these injuries, both Allen Blickle and Matt Maggioni announced their departure from the band, citing that the crash's physical and emotional aftermath prevented them from continuing with touring or performing. By early 2013, Baroness had filled the openings with Sebastian Thomson on drums and jazz bassist Nick Jost.
Blickle later went into sound design and music composition.

No details surrounding his death have been publicly revealed. While no official statement has been released so far by his former bandmates in Baroness, tributes to Allen Blickle have begun appearing on social media, including a message from Laura Pleasants of the band Kylesa, who shared the following:
