After six years, on July 10th 2026, atmospheric black metallers Sojourner will be back with their fourth studio album dubbed Gateways. For a preview, you can give a listen to two new songs via Bandcamp widget below.

The band states: We can’t express how happy we are to present Sojourner in its ultimate form. We’ve channeled the hardships and challenges of these years between to create what we truly feel is our best album to date. A labor of love that also showcases the debut performance of our new permanent co-vocalist Heike Langhans.

"We also present our new single: "Lunar Tear". A song that encapsulates our sound as you know it while showcasing some of the evolution that you’ll hear on the new album. We hope you all enjoy it."

Updates from Heike, she wont perform in Europe

Due to unfortunate timing of my NZ residency visa process, I will not be able to attend Sojourner and Reminas July shows in Europe. Sojourner will still perform at 'Ar'Vran Fest' (France) and 'An Avantgarde Night' (Italy), but the Remina shows at 'In Flammen' (Germany) and the aforementioned Avantgarde show in Italy are unfortunately cancelled.

It has been a complicated situation to navigate as everything was booked in advance, including the Schengen visa process. A week before having to attend the visa appointment, NZ immigration sent a letter asking me to return to South Africa while waiting for the residency permit. Since all the flights were already booked by promoters to leave from NZ, we had no choice but to wait and hope that I could get back in time for a new Schengen appointment. Unfortunately this still doesn't solve the problem, because my passport had to be sent away for processing by NZ Immigration which left no time for a new booking. We tried to request a visa anyway, but French immigration does not grant visas if the applicant can't already provide the permit for the country they are returning to at the time of booking.

We are massively disappointed by this outcome, but it is entirely out of our control. We are no strangers to the bureaucratic disruptions to our schedules by now, but it's never a good feeling to see such careful planning being undone, especially since we'd be travelling from so far away.

The good news is that once my residency is granted, we will not have to face this process again and will return in 2027!
Our sincerest apologies for how this will affect our concert-goers, but we assure you it hurts just as much for us!
