I suppose it makes sense that there isn't a thread about skateboarding in the metalstorm forums. Skateboarding is for hipsters, nu-metal elitists (have to laugh about that joke...), and other stereotypical dudes.

I started skating when I was about 15 until 18. Then it was off to the ARMY, but after those years I picked it back up. It's fun when you get some tricks down. However, I don't see this thread going to far because not MANY ''metalheads'' are comfortable engaging in such a sport/art.

Anyways, if you actually do like to skateboard, know anything about skateboarding or want to know something, here is the thread.

When I came back to Germany I bought an Enjoi with Royal trucks. Enjoi's lose the concave a bit, but they're quite stable decks. Of course, I drew corpsepaint on the panda, lol. I'll have to post a picture sometime before it gets TOO fucked up.

Back when i was infatuated with Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park i played the demo for Tony Hawk's Pro Skating 2 like a million times and i memorized the names of lots of tricks(ollie, benihana, rock n' roll, tailflip, heelflip, kickflip, nosegrind, manual etc), i can't skate to save my life, but apart from the 90% little teens who wanna look like the coolest thing ever i quite like watching it (haven't done that for quite a while though)

and imo the skater crowd is much more retarded than the metal crowd(not saying some metal "fans" aren't 'tards)

I used to skate in Junior High and High School, but I stopped because I sucked and I was lazy - that's why I did the aggressive inline thing instead lol. Anyways, it was fun back in the day to skate through grocery and drug stores, but they tend to kick you out quite a bit. After I stopped, two brand new skate parks were built right by my house. Fucking shit... it was so hard for us to be able to go to skate parks in other cities too, and now they're in our backyard -_-

haha don't you guys hate those guys who bring Razor scooters to skate parks? BMXers at parks are annoying, but scooters are just pathetic...

I mainly used my Kamikaze bored but I had an A-Team off-road board and it was fast as fuck.

I always preferred watching skaters than doing it myself. i did want to start skateboarding, but the skate my parents got me then was crap and not for skateboarding, it was more like a toy. then i just lost interest and kept riding my bike. so i just like to watch now and then on tv or something, though i still prefer BMX

Yep, everyone has a tendency to kick you out immediately. At one school, we were just sitting down taking a break and a teacher threatened to call the cops, lol.

Scooters, fucking losers. After some kids saw me skating in our village they got skateboards too... but NOW... they switched over to Scooters. People were also pretty impressed when I was in High School. Moved out to a country-redneck school and when they saw a 360 flip they were blown away. It was like when people found out the Earth isn't flat...

HA! The Dude wanted to BMX first, but my parents just put those bars on my fucking mountainbike. That is one of the dumbest things I've ever experienced...

When they got divorced it was skateboard time. My VERY first one was a Gundam Wing skateboard...also a Toy, lol. Eventually I got an Element...

I also have an Alien Worshop that I really fucked up. When my wife's sister decided she wants to ''skate'' I gave that to her, lol. She hasn't used it the WHOLE time, but she will now I imagine.

I painted a pretty nifty picture of the sky with her name on it. I'll post some photos in the next two weeks. My Enjoi deck and her sky...AW.

This is actually a good point! I suppose... none! Most of the ''metalheads'' that I've met are interested in sports in that nature, i.e. soccer, football, basketball. Maybe just the stuff you mentioned and jogging, lol. I personally don't care for outdoor recreations besides skateboarding either. BMX is pretty bad ass though.

What!!!!!!!! Skating has nothing to do with Metal I skate, I used to be like alot of you here who would just watch, and it does look cool so one day I said fuck it, and It was pretty easy for me. You cant be all scared and shit though cause then you wont be able to do any tricks, just do it, and if you fall or get hurt too bad get up, suck it up be a man, or go to the hospital and try again. Anyway I ride Old school, like a Surf board (like in Lords Of Dogtown) man you guys should really try learning if your interested its really fun. I meet new people all the time just skating around, I've been invited to concerts by drunk people, Parties, You meet alot of Chicks too, and all just cruing on the street and besides I hate being inside there's a whole world out there I want to see, and people to meet, Sk8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! who else skates? I can't be the only one here. Oh and theres alot of Metalheads who skate in LA ALOT

And I've never seen the Queen in er' damned undies as a fellar d' say. You sound really pumped up, man, lol. Funny that you ride ''old school'' because you're basically saying you can't do any tricks. I've seen some old school stuff done in neat ways, nothing as interessting as what's going on these days.

PJ Ladd- switch heelflip>noseslide>big spin out... that just makes my balls creep up inside me. The very last scene in ''Wonderful Horrible Life'' is just sick!

Anyways, broke my Enjoi, have to go get a new deck this week. The thing is, I take it easy due to my back injury in the Army... so I'm hoping to make this one last just as long.

And yes, chicks dig skateboarders dicks

Yeah, I worship The Big Lebowski... even enough to have bought his Wool Pendleton, a pair of ''Jellies'', and the white Otomix karate shoes. Worship!

I was actually stationed in Germany for the first year and a few months, then we closed the base and I got sent to Kansas. Anyways, I married my girlfriend here and after the Army, I came back. It was only a few months after we got married, then I got out.

Been working on 360 ollies (fs and bs), and impossibles... but all three aren't going to well. I also nearly snapped my Enjoi in half, so I went and bought another one. When this one is broken, I'll use the new Enjoi.

No, I wasn't with the Big Red one, The Dorito (1st Armor Division).

I feel a bit better about skating today! Totally beat this guy at SKATE at the the skatepark. I got him with the following tricks: 360 flip, Switch Kickflip, B/S flip, F/S flip, fakie big spin, and a heelflip I guess. It was glorious

Drunk skating is no longer my style, lol

Yeah I know who they are, I knew a SFC with them with A very small chance you might know him, SFC Cabral, That's cool though getting back into skating< I don't like Skate parks, but maybe its because I cant use all that crazy stuff huh? Nah its because I feel restricted, confined, I prefer the Street, one Trick here, jump over this all on the move, from one spot to another never really having a destination, just blindly cruising. I guess you got down you're 360 flips down huh? All kinds of Crazy tricks cool, was that all in one combination? I would have beat you with a 60 second Pogo do you like or do freestyle tricks?

The 360 flip was a second attempt thing, but they're finally coming back to me. That wasn't all one combination, it was a game of SKATE. I tried other tricks, but didn't land them and neither did this guy. I almost got him out with a fakie F/S flip, but the landing was too sketchy. And about that SFC, I'd have to see a picture to recognize him.

I prefer more of the technical tricks, but freestyle is interesting as well. Rodney Mullen can whip up some madness with his boards!

Great example of SKATE:

There are also so many tricks that I'd love to learn right now:

Backfoot flip
Forward flip (dolphin flip)
Impossibles and more!!!

I have the idea for an impossible, but it always looks like a 360 shuv-it! And on my very first attempt, I did a nollie backfoot flip (then technically frontfoot flip), but I didn't land it. It looked so sick!

Old thread, old quote but I got most of the shit on my board for free. Some guy snapped his within the first 10 minutes he was there. He was so pissed he left his board there. I nabbed the trucks and wheels.

Starting back up again this year after an ankle and wrist injury last year. Can't wait.
