I know I can't be the only one who loses hours of my days playing this amazing game. It's one of the coolest and most innovative games to hit the market ever, and I think it can only get better with the release of Guitar Hero II in November. I've already got my copy reserved. And, rumor has it that developer Red Octane is also working on a couple of spinoffs including a U.S. country rock version, and a Metal version!!!! So if you are a fan, share some of you tips and techniques and let us know what some of your favorite songs to play are. I love playing Bark at the Moon, Spanish Castle Magic, and of course, Symphony of Destruction. I can't play guitar if my life depended on it, so Guitar Hero is right down my alley

Think of it almost like a DDR for guitar.

For those who don't know, you basically have a guitar in your hands and you have 5 note buttons. You press them at the same time as you strum. Notes fly towards you, and you're supposed to play them in time with when they come to you.

HAHA Sweet, I never would have thought of making a specific thread for this game, im an avid player of it. Believe it or not it does help with my drumming because alot of the playing is not based on notes but rather timing, which helps, and im not a guitarist so i can atleast pretend to be one.

but earlier today I got 99% on the buckethead song 'Jordan' on hard mode, 1% away from getting 5 gold stars, I got so angry I whipped my guitar/controller across the room in a blind rage, I should probably go see if its still in one piece, oh well, if it is broken it will be a good excuse to buy that wireless flying-v I saw at the store.

Haha, no. I got the game in November when it came out, and just beat it about 2 weeks ago. So it took a long time, and a lot of playing. But not constant playing, I'd play pretty hard core for about a week, then not play at all for 2.

Keep trying man, you'll get it one day.

Love this game, just finished hard seeing im a drummer I still have some work to do. I have both 1 and 2. 1 has better songs such as Spanish Castle Magic but 2 is better for hammers and has more options. It would be awesome if they brought out a Metal version.

Eh, I don't see what the big deal about this game is. I played it for the first time like a week ago and it was ok, but nothing to raise a major hype about. It takes hardly any thought really, I guess that's why one might say it could be called "mindles Fun." but regaurdless, I don't think I would spend my money on it.

I'm currently playing through it on Hard, and 'Hangar 18' by Megadeth continues to defy me. I can play it until the time change when the crazy triplets come in, and then I die. Though, I have gotten 98% on 'Thunderhorse' by Dethklok, on Expert...

I'm the biggest fAN of this game dudes...like I've played it for over a month EVERY FUCKING DAY! (and I do have other things to do, school and work lol) I'm stuck in Expert it's a motherfucking crushing level, those last songs are impossible dudes, truly impossible...

the bad thing is that there's no live option, it would be cool to play against you guys on the net, we'll have to wait for the third version for this, so far there are rumors that there will be Slayer and Metallica in the third version...also white stripes and interpol lol

Yeah the next one looks OK, the new controller is a Les Paul. The tracklisting so far looks pretty sub-par, but theres cool new features like broken strings and what not.

Well, I only have GH2, so I can only comment on the songs from that one. I'd say the hardest song (on the higher 2 difficulties, of course) would be 'Psychobilly Freakout', because it's so all-over-the-place. The most fun song would be 'Thunderhorse', for the simple reason that it's by Dethklok!

I absolutly hate what guitar hero is doing to people and metal. I was sitting next to a kid in summer school and he was on some website and i saw Hangar 18 on the screen and i asked him if he was a Megadeth fan and he's like "what?" and I said Hangar 18 is by Megadeth and he says "oh yeah, I really like that band they sound really cool" and all kinds of other insidences that just piss me off to the point where I can't stand to here or see the name of that fuckin game.

personally, i am HORRIBLE at this game, and the covers are HORRIBLE as well, but many of my friends play it all day and night... i think it would be more useful to pick up an actual guitar, but thats just me, heh

Im pretty bad at this game as well but i just practice heaps and gradually get better as i practice more and i agree that some of the covers are bad too but some are good too.

this shit is one of the coolest games in history.. i saw it in a store here you could play it on a PS3 they have there, thankfully there were some guys who beat me to it or i would have sleeped there that night!(oh wait, i'd play the game, who needs sleep with this thing?)

the only thing i'm wondering now is what is cooler: a jedi knight game on a Wii with multiplayer or this baby.. i'm so fuckin upset since the PC version GH3 demands too much and just won't work on my computer, and there are no other PC versions of GH

Played Guitar Hero III at my mate's place. It was on PS2, though, so no online playing for me.

Yeah, the Guitar Hero series is good, but it's not something I could devote a lot of time to. While it's fun to play, I consider it more of a party game as opposed to a sit-down-and-play-for-hours-like-an-RPG game.

It was good. My friend officially dubbed my character to be Lars Umlaut. The boss battle was amusing, too. Oh, and it may have been my first time playing any Guitar Hero, but fuck me if Dragonforce's song isn't fucking stupidly hard just for the sake of it.
