Here is the topic where, like in the old forum, American Metalstormers can congregate and talk about metal and what is happening in their state. Hope y'all have fun!

Well... I'm a french froggie. But I live in the US. So I decided I might as well let myself known around here.

Where do you US stormers live?
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area... where sweet thrash comes from It's probably something in the water .

@meTalcoholic: Good thinking about telling where you come from as well.

I am from Great Bend, Kansas, one of the most boring places imaginable. Little do the denizens know that there is a creature of unfathomable power living within their town. That creature happens to be me.

Greetings from Seattle! The land of rain, mountains, trees, Starbucks and Alice in Chains

The local metal scene is Seattle is mostly hardcore, death, screamo, etc. There are several good melodic and prog metal bands though, so maybe there is hope for a "scene" here

Infernal hails from central Florida! (I'm from a town in Lake County. We have over 10,000 named lakes in the area, hence the name, but I bet no one here knows where that is hehehe) As you all know, Florida is home of death metal, notably Obituary, Deicide, and Cannibal Corpse!

I believe there is a noticable hardcore/metalcore scene here, at least that's what I run into from people a lot.

I live in Tennessee... outside Nashville. You know, country music capital of the world?

The metal scene isn't exactly jumpin' around here.

Iced Earth was formed in Florida? Whoa, didn't know that. Yeah, I knew Kamelot is from Florida; actually, this fall I will be moving to Tampa so maybe I'll get lucky and bump into Thomas Youngblood, haha!

I have just realized that the summer is upon us. This is when a whole bunch of concerts and metal fests will be going on. Any American Metalstormers going to a concert this summer? I know I won't. My mother won't let me go to any concerts.

Same here, I can only pick one to go to. I have a topic under the General Metal Forum about some tours this summer in the U.S, check it out for ideas. I either want to go to Sounds of the Underground for Cannibal Corpse and Behemoth (lets not forget Gwar) or The Unholy Alliance, specifically for Slayer and Lamb Of God, nothing else on it though.

And I bring hails from Massachusetts, thats New England for anyone unfamilar with the state. In my local area we have a really sick Black Metal band that I'm an avent fan of, but not much else. There use to be a sort of melo death/ thrash band here as well but the guys in it got lazy and didn't bother to play anymore even though they got radio play and press.

We are rather close. You're in Buncombe County, right outside of Asheville right? I'm to the west of Asheville in Macon County.

Actually, a band named Sanctity from Asheville recently got signed to Roadrunner Records. The metal scene is Western NC is generally good, considering the location. Especially around where I live.

Where are there good shows or clubs? I hit up downtown Asheville every weekend. I go to two different bars there. Neither one is metal at all.

See, I'm not really sure about in Asheville. I live maybe an hour from there and go there maybe once a month and due to my age I never go to the bars or anything like that. But if you're interested in some of Western NC's metal scene, I may still be able to help you.

Where did you see those bands? I've been to a couple of shows in Atlanta, but as far as NC goes, it's mostly local shows. Do you know where Waynesville is?
