Midsommer Murders

Midsommer murders are British TV series where Cheef Inspector Thomas Barnabey and Decetiv Sergant Troy(and other guy in newer series) invastigate murders in fake English Midsommer country in small towns, villaiges , its based on cops inthelect not violance,. rembering detailes, thinks, faces, names , simple like Sherlock Holmes, Poarot, etc

IMO its pretty fun, because nowdays we are use to see violance, dirty cop kicks out dor, shoot bad guy in leg, hit other bad guy and bust him , also shoot someone who was in wrong places...this is diferent, all is based on inthelect, mind and thinking and bad guy goes to jail

Sometimes those landscapes and country life might be boring, but still its good one

Yeah I don't mind it. The episodes are rather long though. My Mum used to watch it but because of the length she used to miss the end as she went to bed before it finished haha.

But yeah, you're right about it being a breath of fresh air in a way. I wouldn't like to live in a village/town thing like that though

2 h 15 min each epizode and I like it even somehow newer series are lil weirder how older , but I like still like it its nice see how crime can be solved whit brains not bullets

I watch older in TV3 Sweden in froday and TV8 Sweden in sundays are new series, never seems lil (shorter crime invastifation) how odlers but still good

LOL Midsommer is fake place in UK like Corston town , name is for films, even filming are made in huge area , and its nothing to do whot area even in one series there was blues rock band who's member killed all members and also Hells Angels death head on one guy ring LOL long hait, blues n old chick LOL

try it its good and I open it fiew days ago and its not much posts

I so love it. I keep thinking how these few villages probably have more deaths then London, or something. But the show is really nicely done and somehow, I rarely guess who the murderer is. I've loved it for years because I love murder mysteries done like that. The scenery is always great and everything seems kinda chilled out even though there was a murder. They find out who the killer is by themselves, they keep going around, talking to people and revealing their secrets. It's a nice change from CSI and all that high tech crap. Where they find the killer beause they found a one milimeter strand of hair in the back of a car and they saw there was a speck of dirt there. Then they inspect the speck of dirt with their random dirt inspecting machine, and they go YES. THIS IS DIRT FROM -random persons- GARDEN. They imported the dirt from Egypt!!!! They're the only ones in town who have it. Blah.
That's why Barnaby rules.

Love this show, so since Swe TV did randomly show all the time, so I decide download it , so season 1-13 and like 2 years ago I did watch it all
Then in mid season 6 something (on TV) I saw Tom Burnaby left and there is his cousin , I didn't watch it at all. So solely I did watch all, till I found out why they left, basically Tom went tro pension and move away, same Joice and Kully has no reason to be in a show
even DV Jones, Doc Bullard staied, new cop Barnaby as Tom's cousin show up as main dick. I got S 14-15-16 (well 17 be out next year) and saw 1th serie whit him
I dunno, hard to say seems to modern, I like early 90's early 00's series, more old school touch as brirish village should be

My dad reckons Barnaby's wife must be involved with the murders, because she's always there and often knows the victim or suspects.

Great show though I lost interest after Tom Barnaby left and the show turned a bit more gritty.

I'm also a fan of Poirot.

what Poirot? as child I did watch old one, now I did to but it was boring to old, bad quality, if it would be re make, it would be damn awesome

there are no typo ... Midsommer is fiction county in England , basically filmed in Themes waley close to London

New Barnaby don't drink, I like old one where he was in a pub take a pint, I hate modern days stupid alcohol laws, tv laws, it ruin british tradition
old bill and drink its normal IMO, we all do
also new guy wife she works, don't coock at home,s oem homey feeling is missing there , Joice was better
1h 30 mikes are to short, we need 10-15 mikes in the timing more , investigation is missing, more less they are there, not get there,

Oh, I get it. Unfortunately I didn't see any disclaimer saying: "The following text is copy-paste content".

BTW on British TV was more less documentary about Midsommer is 100% white, that in UK other nations also lives, so in S 15 there in each episode some characters was not white , interesting.
I don't wanna be racist but UK country side 99% are white populated, specially deeper , but still I a not a racist, I just enjoy show.

I started S16 I didn't know Ben Jones will move to somewhere alse and Sergeant Charlie Nelson will be John's partner , I cant not use to new faces in 1th episode

I saw Season 18 1th episode available , next will be premier tomorrow, according to trailer it will be about aliens.
S18E1 was 1th where was no real murder, but missing corpses. Nice one. But somehow modern days made 2014 well I miss mid 90's magic into viladge life

Midsomer Murders is a fantastic show loved it ever since it was first shown here and have watched every episode they have made, I am not really a huge fan from series 14 onwards though it was never as good after John Nettles left. Oh and Bad English the reason why the original Barnaby left was simply he lost interest in the show after 13 years I couldn't really disagree the show had lost a lot of integrity by that stage and millions of viewers to kinda like The Bill after so many years and certain characters left.

Why Gavin Troy, Scott left?
why DC Benjamin Jones left and now kate ?
I understand Bullard left because also s15 ... a lot

I understand he lost interests, but more I don't like how it became TV time show 1h 30 mikes, not 1h 40 as in old days and in Nettles days it was also more made in winter, spring. Now seems its summer
What I like about Neil Dungeon times is, show more lost traditional britisc conservative life, more new young ppl into viladge, more women , but I dislike this modern atmosphere, I like mid 90's 00's villages in so called pre I net days

Troy left cause in the story he wanted to go for Inspector and he did that's why they replaced him with Sgt. Scott why he left I can't remember he was only in 2 series 6 and 7 I believe then he to was replaced with Jones, so many shows changed over time and some it was fantastic like Shameless whereas others like The Bill well at one point it got pretty bad eh to put it mildly and so did Midsomer Murders and half of what makes a show so good is the actors and the original Barnaby and characters to me always gave more put more passion into it.

Story can be fixed, Scot was like dick, his character was like bad cop , but maybe actor left , story can be changed

The real reason Jason Hughes (DS Ben Jones) left the show was health reasons he got really sick all the time and commuting every day for 10 months of the year took it's toll as for DS Scott he was simply referred to as being ill and never mentioned again it's all starting to come back to me now but Kate for the life of me can't remember why she left...?

I see, its hard be away 10 months,m how much they got money for it
Yes ppl are watching but there cant be new ideas, it needs some freshness , because Midsommer is not so big, but well yes many ware watching

Honestly I think the shows weakest point is no longer the storylines it is the characters Neil Dudgeon just doesn't do it for me not a true Barnaby

I agree, btw I like Nelsson he dress great, killed traditional British conservative ideas . Big Larry from Sons of Silence said, some of us has beards, long hair, tattoos, cant trsut clean cut ppl

Brits made mistake Anna Degn should take a gun, Danish cops have a fire arm, when they Thomas Madsen was arrested in house, Anna Degn (real name Birgitte Hjort Sörensen ) should take a gun

You have obviously never watched The Bill british bobbies will never carry guns and yes I do believe this is a dumb thing cause cops in certain situations will be forced to draw their weapon like here in Australia, least here they don't shoot to kill like in America.

British crime scene has changed where Raspy and deady was right in some way, so cops needs fire arms,
US cops are para military and I believe police needs pistol , assault rifle or semio auto shot gun in car and also mini mi sub machine gin in car as if there are heavy gun fire... look acts in France, in France cops can kill modafuka terorirst, in UK? wait until gun unite comes, Denmark police carry gun, Swe to even dicks , where refugees came I saw dics and dick chick whit pistol and some uniform whit MP5 , 1th time I see MP5 in Luleå
