God I don't listen to this album enough, easily one of the greatest BM albums ever written.

Fantastic album, about 15 minutes too long though. Dead As Dreams (song) is pretty much a masterpiece, the dual guitar lead is sooooo good.

I don't even notice how long it is. It's that kind of good.

I finally own a physical CD of it. But how can I tell which version it is? No years are printed on the sleeve...

They only released it twice in CD-format so you can look if there are any codes to identify it. Compare them to the ones found here and here.

I heard the first editions of the CD were buried in places all over Washington and the treasure maps were given to a select few. Makes me wonder how Fox got his copy.

Thanks! didn't know such codes existed. Mines have IFPI LM26 on the CD, so it's the original version ^^y

Mine doesn't so I guess it's just a repress. A cd is a cd though so I'm ok with that.

I don't know if this was recommended before but still, there used to be a band called Dead As Dreams, they only managed to release an EP which contains just one song over 24 minutes. I think you'll enjoy it a lot if you love Weakling.

The staggering number of cool musical ideas. The on-point musicianship. The utterly hopeless atmosphere. What a masterpiece this album is,

It's very long and drawn out so obviously there's alot to take in at once, but if you allow yourself the time and opportunity to take this one up then do so, it's a true atmospheric masterpiece, one that any fan of traditional black metal can't miss out on.
The harsh high pitch squeeling vocals may not be to everyone's taste, but for me they have such a sinister sound, almost like genuine cries of agony and despair, as if the vocalist himself is going through some sort of dramatic physical, or emotional torture. The guitar tone sounds eerie, and fits the style perfectly, and the song structures and musicianship is phenomenal, but it can get too much, and a wee bit tedious over time.

Glad I finally found this one, BM is one of my favorite subgenres but I'm less into the lo-fi old stuff. This is a marked exception, well said above, "utterly hopeless atmosphere"

The vocalist sounds like he was hit in the nuts repeatedly just before he tracked his vocals.

Hello, I'm an incredibly important album that isn't talked about enough, even amongst critics and connoisseurs of Black Metal.
The fact that this album gets mostly ignored when discussing modern BM and USBM is really strange. Somehow it stayed in the underground this whole time, even with extreme metal reaching the mainstream through the react-type videos on youtube.
