Unlike "Ecliptica", which kicks off on the very first second, this album has an intro - well, actually even too many of them, because there's an intro for "The End Of This Chapter", for "Land Of The Free" and "The Power Of One"... Why I talk about this? Because it's the only weak point of this flawless in every other way album. Though after the first listening I was, like "What the hell? This is not half as good as Ecliptica!" now it has really grown on me. It has everything that I expect from a power metal album - powerful ultrafast tracks with kick-ass double-drumming, a couple of really nice and emotional ballads and a sign of high-quality all over it. At the same time it doesn't sound like a standard euro-power - it's much more diverse, with tons of fresh ideas and very wise lyrics

Can't decide between this and Ecliptica. Power Of One is their best song btw

This is probably my favorite power metal album of all time. Followed by probably Angra's Temple of Shadows.

I think it's safe to assume that this and Ecliptica are both Sonata Arctica's best Albums so far and both Classics of the whole Power Metal Genre.

On par with Ecliptica. Few things came to my mind while listening to this album:
1. The drummer clearly can't keep up the tempo and stumbles constantly in the beginning Weballergy.
2. Tallulah is annoying song, skip it.
3. The Power Of One is the single best song they have ever made.

^One of those statements is true, and one is very false.

I'm curious to hear which one is which?
1. This one might not be so easy to spot, but somewhere between 0:00-0:20 you can clearly hear slight wobbling in tempo if you listen to it closely. Disturbs me every time.
2. Matter of taste. Some people love these ballads, I just think of them as pointless filler, especially this one. Without Tallulah this would be full 10 album for me.
3. Same thing here, but the song is awesome.

Edit. Feels so amusing and weird when two Finnish guys have to do chatting in English instead of just, well, Finnish .

I was essentially agreeing with you regarding "The Power of One" and disagreeing when it comes to Tallulah. I love that song.

But to expand upon this a bit: Ecliptica has stronger rockers overall, but the ballads on Silence give this album more... let's call it... depth? Variety. I don't think of them as filler at all - they're some of my favourite songs on the record. Matter of taste.
