Back in 2005, Daniel Powter had a bad day, so he sang a sad song just to turn it around.

Well, it's 2012 now and I had a bad day but I'm not that much of a bitch to write a sappy pop rock single about it. Instead, I just decided to check out the latest Revenge release, because I know what I'm going to get, and I know my bad day is about to be completely fucking annihilated.

To say these guys haven't evolved over the years is an understatement. The lack of innovation here is so astounding everything from the titles of their songs and cover art from their albums all appear exactly the same. The music isn't an exception. If you've ever spent more than 10 minutes listening to these Canadian black metallers, you've pretty much listened to their entire discography. But like I said, I sought out Scum.Collapse.Eradication because I wanted to listen to something filled with piss and shit.

And that's pretty much what you're in for, so if scat porn doesn't make your wiener sing, maybe you should just back the fuck up and go watch some My Little Pony.

Revenge focus on sounding extremely extreme. This is brutal, mindless black metal mayhem with anal fissures and an amputee fetish. It fucks you up and down without remorse and then takes your mother in front of you as you're forced to watch. It's going to bother you, and disturb you. Who needs melody and cheesy synths and clean vocals and all that other shit? These guys sure don't. They're down with playing some absolutely ripping, chaotic black metal, horribly distorted by a grimy production and made even more repulsive by a purposely piss-poor mixing job that should induce migraines. The vocals are putrid, the instrumentation is repetitive and obnoxious, the songs generally flow in the sense that they don't, and the riffs generally rock in the sense that they roll. Everything about this band is vile and discouraging. It's like they don't want you to listen to what they're saying.

Frankly, you'll either like this or hate it. You better not fuckin' love it, because that's gay, right? But Revenge don't care. I don't care. Fuck it, you don't even care. Because you had a bad day, just work at a smile and go for a ride. Just don't be a bitch about it - sack up and listen to some Scum.Collapse.Eradication.
