Decent song, it's got a "Creatures of the Night" album sound; the lyrics are weak though.

Yep, that's pretty much my take on it too... The last great single that Kiss released was "Unholy" back in 1992, and whilst this song certainly isn't in the same league as that one, it certainly could have been far worse. I like it for sure, though I hope most of the rest of the material on the album is better, and this isn't actually the best song on it. Hopefully they have released the worst track as a single!

Agree the lyrics are weak but Kiss have always had weak lyrics. I like the song too. That's not the real Space Ace though!

A lot of times I think about how awesome the 80's must have been with all the thrash and death metal being in formation, but then I remember that this stuff was way more popular and am thankful that kids these days listen to metalcore instead.

The popularity of Kiss waned in the 80s - they were huge in the 70s, however. I take your point though. Still, the 80s was the era of the hair metal bands, so people were buying albums by the truckload by Bon Jovi, Poison, Warrant et al whilst bands like Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth were starting to emerge.

But Thrash didn't even reach the mid-90s before it went to crapsville.

Not bad, I guess.

I can somewhat see a bit of Fleshgod Apocalypse influence to accompany this more technical sound; maybe around 'Oracles' era material but there's some 'Agony' influence in here as well. It's working for them anyways.

Sounds like a similar production to Sonic Boom, which was an average album at best. I'll probably buy this when it comes and think it's average

Fleshgod Apocalypse

Why is that name being brought up in a Kiss thread?

I have noticed you have "troll" in your username... but still.

But you're right, I'm being a moron. Spawn Of Posession is a better comparison of this new style.
