Loved by many. Some even say it's Rage finest hour. It's strange, I always seemed to think this is a very forgetable album. There's plenty of good riffing here but that's about it. The songs never explore anything and there's not a single notable chorus (except for Don't Fear the Winter obviously..), some songs are plain silly and annoying (Neurotic and Sinister Thinking). I've read that Peavy think it's a by-numbers album, but also that he says it's one of his favourites. I think the fact that they never really have played anything of this album live (except for Don't Fear the Winter obviously..) says it all. One of the low points of Rage careers.

Yeah, a bit strange this album.
I hail Dont fear the winter.
But I dont recall many more tracks. Sinister thinking, Animal instinct.
Supersonic Hydromatic might have annoyed me.
Last time spinning this probably 15 years or more ago.
I prefer Secrets from 1989, Trapped from 1992 and Missing Link from 1993.

Definitely. All those are a lot more interesting.

RAGE - "Perfect Man" - limited Double Vinyl Edition - Cover, Tracklist, Release Date: 28th February 2020

The release date of the of the album "Perfect Man" by the German Heavy Metal Band RAGE on Double Vinyl is February 28th, 2020. The pre-order phase will start on February 14th, 2020 in our webshop. The Album will release in a limited Edition of 300 black copies, 7 Bonustracks and insert on Double Vinyl.

Still after so much decades, RAGE from Herne are a legend in the German Metal scene. The first two albums "Reign Of Fear" and "Execution Guaranteed" have already had a vinyl re-release through us. Now it's time for the third output "Perfect Man" from 1988. With "Perfect Man" RAGE grew out of the juvenile and elemental early works and presented the whole mixture a bit more sophisticated and mellow. The first pure Power Metal influences can be heard in "Don't Fear The Winter", "Time And Place" has thrilling, ballad-like moments to offer. At that time Peavy was still able to hold the high falsetto-like screams very well ("Supersonic Hydromatic"!), but at the time the trio was significantly more mature and well-versed due to the back then newcomers Manni Schmidt and Chris Efthimiadis. "Perfect Man" comes as a double vinyl with four previously unreleased bonus tracks and seven live versions (including an acoustic version). Of course, the two tracks "Symbols Of Our Fear" and "Neurotic", which were only released on CD at that time, are now also on "black gold". A must-have for all RAGE historians!

Light and Shadow here. Some of the best songs Rage have ever written but also a lot of mediocore stuff.

Faves: Wasteland, Animal Instinct, Sinister Thinking and Don't Fear The Winter

Easily my favourite Rage album. Used to listen to those slightly odd melodies so often I knew all the lyrics. I also liked Secrets in a Weird World and always felt the albums that came after were repeating the same musical tricks over and over. Unpopular opinion I’m sure!
