Paradise Lost - New Album Title, Release Date Revealed

Not too long ago, British gothic metallers Paradise Lost announced that they had commenced recording their new album. The wait is over, as the band finally reveals the title of their upcoming opus, The Plague Within. The new album will drop on June 1st, 2015 in Europe and June 2nd, 2015 in North America via Century Media. Also, The Plague Within is produced and mixed by Jaime Gomez Arellano from Orgone Studios in London (Ghost, Ulver, Cathedral, Angel Witch). More details will be revealed soon.

The band comments: "We wanted to approach the new album differently this time by embracing the band's VERY early days. We have written a very dark, yet melodic album, but this time many songs definitely have a death metal edge, which is something we haven't done for a long long time in Paradise Lost."

I saw this death metal edge coming since they announced old Nick as the new Bloodbath frontman. If it's anything close to the new Bloodbath I'm sold.

I want to hear something 'fresh' i guess is the word im looking for. Last 3 - 4 albums have been very predictable for me.

It's always disappointing when bands go back to their roots instead of developing and trying to do new things. But I guess they have to pay their bills and "old fans" will jump at more of the same.

I'm skeptical with the whole "death metal" influence, "yet melodic", whatever; I liked their last albums. they want to go back to the roots? hope they find them...
