Korn fans are in for a treat today because the band has just premiered new music off their new album. Three years after The Paradigm Shift, the U.S. metal group will unleash The Serenity Of Suffering on October 21st on Roadrunner Records! While it is still a few months away, they have also premiered the new track "Rotting In Vain" to whet your appetite. The clip stars 'Sons of Anarchy' actor Tommy Flanagan. How do you like the new song and video?

Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones) produced the album, which also features an appearance by Slipknot's Corey Taylor.

"'Rotting in Vain' was written about being in that black place, being in situations that I don't like in life - be it relationships, or feeling when you're stuck and you're just being abused or you don't like where you're at, and you just sit there and rot," singer Jonathan Davis says. "It takes you years and years to figure out how to claw your way out. That's where 'Rotting in Vain' came from. I'm just sitting there, fucking dying and letting it happen for years and years and not helping myself to get out of that place. That's the vibe that inspired the song."

Pre-order the record and get an instant download of "Rotting In Vain".

Best song since Untouchables that's for sure, looks hopeful to be a return of their former sound

That was fucking ACE! Hoping the rest of the album lives up to this track. I didn't mind the electronics off of 'Paradigm' but its refreshing to just hear them play Heavy guitars and vocals.

This new track took me back to what Korn started.

I really hope rest of the album sounds like this and don't mind even if they have included electronic parts in between.

Much better, but the 90's are over and gone. Yes I like this of course I do, it is reminiscent of their 90's material, but the 90's are over.

Yet KoRn lives on?

I guess this makes that alright?!

Dig it. I like The Paradigm Shift a lot and this sounds like a continuation with some nostalgia. I'll check out the new album.

Don't care about the video, but the song is quite good ... the album cover is hideous indeed

I enjoyed it a lot. Reminds me of the Korn I knew from the first 2-3 albums more than their later stuff. The heavy nu-metal guitars and JD's crazy babbling are back in full force, and that's what I like to hear. Sure, the band has lost a lot of edge since then, but it's a hell of a lot better than the post-Untouchables albums.

(I actually somewhat enjoyed The Path Of Totality since I used to be really really into dubstep and immediately recognized all the names. It still wasn't good though.)

Art is typical Korn, just uglier. Korn has pretty much always had ugly album covers (outside of their first two, possibly three), it was part of their "rejected" charm and it continues here. But Jesus that's unbearably bad looking.

That album cover is hideous

Quoted for Truth. It almost looks like something an angsty 13-year-old with some experience in photoshop would come up with.

That being said, the song was much better than I expected.
