Adagio - Share New Song, New Album Next Spring
French progressive masters are back! After seven years of silence, Adagio have released a new song, which is just a taste of the upcoming album, Life, due out in the spring of 2017. The new song is called "Subrahmanya" and is over seven minutes long. You can check it out here, and tell us what you think!
The band's guitarist and main songwriter Stéphan Forté says: "The impetus behind the band's dormancy spanning almost a decade was our commitment to doing justice to our material. To release the album in an incomplete or premature state would be a disservice to the music, the band, and most of all, to the fans. Fear, joy, sorrow, love, pain, ecstasy... What if we could visit each of these emotions like exhibits in a museum? Life takes you on contemplative journey, exploring the complex yet beautiful contortions of the subconscious mind."
During the long break, Adagio went through lineup changes. Kelly "Sundown" Carpenter, who served before as Adagio's live singer, is now a full-time member. Guillaume Bergiron replaced Eric Lebailly on drums and the band now also has a full-time violinist, Mayline. The band will play two shows in 2016, supporting their latest effort: on December 9th in Tours and a day later in Paris.
Life will be released worldwide through Zeta Nemesis, funded through a crowdfunding campaign. You can support the campaign and pre-order the album here.
