I open this forum so that you can discuss your favorite sitcoms (situation comedy). Probably tell us what they're about, from where, what you think about them or why you like it. In my case, I think one of the best sitcoms is 'Seinfeld' (USA). In short words, it is indeed a show about NOTHING just four single people (3men, 1 wonam) from New York, and how they deal with their everyday situations. The show was very succesful and it was over in 1997-98 after being on the air I guess since 1987. After this I guess 'The Simpsons', and also 'Two and a half men', also from the US... So, which ones are your favorites?

Mine would deffiently be Scrubs, a nice story line with good actors and a nice mix between humour and seriousness . Spin city was also good, before Michael J. Fox was forced to quit that is. @Fhuesc: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sitcom - I know that you shoudn't trust wikipedia that much, but this should give you an idea what a sitcom is.

I'm a sitcom addict..yesyes XD I will ALWAYS love Seinfeld - they're just brilliant because they can make a funny episode..as you said, out of nothing.I mean one of their funniest episodes was them waiting for a table at a chinese restaurant, doing nothing.Just funny, intelligent dialogue. I also like Will & Grace ,because of Jack & Karen..they are simply forever XD Well, there's a lot of stuff i love..like Fawlty Towers,Father Ted,actually i love a whole lot of british stuff..umm.."Absolutely fabulous" is another good one.Actually just give me anything with Jennifer Saunders,Dawn French or John Cleese and i'll watch it. But the ultimate thing ever is "Only fools and horses" , i don't actually think Delboy,Rodney,Trigger,Boycie and the others can be topped...ever.There's nothing better than that. Torelli mentioned Scrubs..that's another good example of a really cool american sitcom, but when we're speaking of sitcoms made in the usa lately..i can't think of that much that really hold my attention.I guess it's cause they overproduce and we're all fed up..could be that.i don't know. But i do know that when it comes to usa, lately i'm more into the shows that couldn't be considered sitcoms..like Desperate housewives and Gray's anatomy

1. Seinfeld 2. Arrested Development 3. Curb Your Enthusiasm Other sitcoms that I think were largely really good are Cheers (legend!!), Frasier, Becker, 3rd Rock From The Sun, The Office (UK version is better but the US version aint bad either), The Young Ones, Fawlty Towers, Black Books, Lucky Louie.

Huh and here I thought i was the only Frasier fan. I know it's not really a comedy but i truly liked Monkey (I've never been able to summon that flying cloud so far). I also didn't mind that 70's show, Bottom, My Family, Mash (though i think thats more of a drama), and you can't go past The Goodies either, who can? I never really got into Curb Your Enthusiasm, just isn't funny to me. If you don't like it, talk to Dr. Fist

Gosh, I'm addicted to all kinds of sitcoms! When I was a kid I never missed a single show of Full House and Fresh Prince from Bell Air. My fave... definately ''That 70s Show''! It's just funky and the characters are so great toegther because they represent the mass of completely different caracters being put together in all kinds of situations. I also very much enjoy Fraiser and yes, I love Seinfeld too, I was all over 3rd Rock From The Sun and Boy Meets World (omg I had a huuuuuuuge crush on Rider Strong who played Shawned when I was in 6th grade, once I pretended I was ill because at that time I had to do a perfromance and sing on some shcool celebration ), Everybody Loves Raymond, Friends and OMFG I can't remember more... Yes, the mentioned ''Absolutely Fabuolous'' are hilarious too. Currently I'm hooked with the ''girly'' What I Like About You. Oh and Scrubs. And of course Blackadder and Mr. Bean. The two sitcoms I have always disliked are Roseanne and Cheers.

Written by Bulletdodger on 16.12.2007 at 21:23 Only Fools & Horses is the best! Blackadder is great too. Well, Seinfeld is a given. It basically sums up sitcom with "What's the deal with ______" situational jokes. Curb Your Enthusiasm follows the same high standard. Fresh Prince has been a guilty pleasure of mine for ages. So I'm watching Scrubs and I'm thinking who's the funny guy?

I don't have a TV (well I do, but I don't have any cable or satellite so I only play games on it) outside of work, but when I did I enjoyed Seinfeld and Frasier the most, and I occasionally watch those shows at work too. The only current TV show I really watch is The Office (in my office) and House every once in a while. Fuck reality TV.

British sitcoms were indeed the best. Father Ted, Black Adder, Black Books, 'Allo 'Allo etc always gave me a good laugh. And as already mentioned, Seinfeld was just gold. Married With Children though was my favourite sitcom. Al Bundy is definitely the greatest character created. And Kingswood Country was another of my favourites. It was an Australian sitcom from the early 80s, notable for the bigotry and its now political incorrectness (of course, it wasn't seen that way back when it aired). Such a great show though.

Seinfeld, the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and the Simpsons are my favourites, great humor and some of the best lines ever in Seinfeld and Simpsons.. eg. "D'oh!" or "these pretzels.....ARE MAKING ME THIRSTYYYY!!" or when george and elaine both have abstinence and george becomes super-smart and elaine super-dumb... edit: NO SOUP FOR YOU!

Red Dwarf, Blackadder, Fawlty Towers, The Smoking Room. I love the realist style on the Office (strictly UK only, US one is way too "zany") and espeically Peep Show too. The Young ones is always fun too, and must have been such a breath of fresh air when it was released.

I love sitcoms, I really do. The best one will always be "Friends", I think without any of the 6 amazing main actors it wouldn't be nearly as great. Thereafter we have "Scrubs"... it's just hillarious and has a great variety of personalities. I also love "Seinfeld", "Spin City" and can enjoy a lot of other stuff.
