“We are doom metal and heavy metal. Traditional, epic, raw, and heavy! Doom ‘n’ roll - Fuck you, we’re Lucifer's Fall”. Rarely do bands provide such apt descriptions of their sound.

I've only listened to very little doom metal, but this - this right here - is amazing! Super heavy riffs and I love the Chtuhlu lyrics
To be more specific, my favorite songs are The Cave, Across the Void, and From the Deep.
Man of God and Trident Steel are also great songs. I didn't like Reverend Revenant at first, but it's growing on me.
The weakest song is Doom 'n' Roll. This band is at its best with long, dark songs with rising tension before it all bursts asunder! Doom 'n' Roll distracts from this overarching feeling of dread. Definitely a skippable song.
Otherwise, the rest of the songs are awesome. The vocalist is excellent and sounds like a preacher hailing the coming of the Great Ancient One, Cthulhu (which most of this album is in fact about). The guitar-work is so heavy that it really makes me feel like a gargantuan eldritch being is awakening from the deep.
Trident Steel and The Cave are such great songs (this is how Metallica's Thing That Should Not Be should have been!) with fascinating imagery in the lyrics: "on his head a crown of skulls, his palace human bones".
Overall a really entertaining album in my opinion. 8.6/10
I love this apocalyptic/ancient mythology/horror storytelling so much, that I've decided to start reading the original "The Call of Cthulhu" by Lovecraft! Cheers and happy headbanging!

I like this quite much. This is a nice mix of vastly different elements. The production in general is cool, at least it sounds so to me on my device. The guitar tone is pretty meaty. The vocals are very unique, and while they may be at times out of tune, what matters is the confidence in delivery. The bass is very much present (as it should be in doom) and the drums kind of blend in just right, there is little to complain about instrumentally. I don't wanna draw too many between-band comparisons, but this record sounds a bit like NWOBHM half the time, then the other half is way slower, and they bring in some dissonance I remember from certain Darkthrone-imitating BM acts. These guys manage to remind me of newer Candlemass and old Entombed at once. Pretty cool.

So imminently visible - this cloaked innocent guilt
Sentenced to a lifetime, a second of structured chaos
Trampled by the ferocious, raging crowds of solitude
I'm the soil beneath me soaking up the sustenance of my own death.

Damn it. This still remains so unique to my ears. No other band can produce this type of doom: a perfect mix of clear, menacing vocals and crushing, catchy riffs - and let's not forget the fantastic lyrics (which I think I'll have to add based on my own listening, since I can't find a written copy of the lyrics anywhere online).

I've been revisiting this album and every listen sounds just as good and fresh and evil. These guys show just how good metal can be.

This right here deserves nothing less than a 10 in my books.

Here's a cool interview with the mastermind vocalist Phil Howlett.
I'm looking forward to the new songs he mentioned
