Dream Widow - Dream Widow

Although it is not a consistent record style-wise, it is a great example of what a privileged mind can do with Metal

I've never been a fan of the Foo Fighters, so hearing that Dave Grohl was behind this, I wasn't really expecting too much, but this I must say this has certainly come as a surprise to me, it isn't a bad effort at all. I'm not blown away by some of it's material, it's like a blend of alternative and Nu metal, and thrash, but I find "Becoming" very good song, and "Lacrimus Dei Ebrius", is an excellent closing track, which has a doomy vibe to it.

This band has a lot of potential imo
I found out it's Grohl's band after a few spins of the lp

Didn't know this was Dave Grohl's metal side project and thanks to that I did not allow it to cloud my judgement. This is really good thrash with sound song writing. Maybe more stoner than thrash.
